HTV now Digital

Some of you in the Bayou Area may have noticed a new TV signals in the Bayou area. HTV just signed on its digital signals in Houma and Morgan city replacing any temporary signals it had after Gustav.

The channel 30 signal (KFOL) moved from 40k analog with a huge null to the North east to 15 kW in an omnioid pattern at about the same height above the ground but in a new location.

The Channel 7 signal (KJUN) moved from Less than 10 watts to 300 watts omnidirectional.

Both are now maxed out class A's serving Houma-Thibodaux-Morgan City areas.

Did He find a new tower or is he still using two old fire dept ladder trucks with ladders extended together for his antenna?

If you have passed by lately, they installed a paraflector under the temporary rig. They are using that as the STL to a tower in East Houma. To the Bayou folks that know the area, it is the tower that is by the intracoastal off of Park avenue near the Howard Avenue Bridge.

Didn't know about the latter trucks but I know he was using a old crane from one of the local construction companies after the storm, but haven't seen his station since before Gustav and without going adjust my antenna, I can't pick it up on Bayou Lafourche too good either

Picked it up tonight, I caught his main program on 30.1 and 30.3 with virtual stations (with no programming) on 30.2 and 30.4 (He flash cut on channel 30)

Kind of wondering what he will do with all this added capacity now
