I heard Huckabee for the first time on a low rated Vegas radio station that just flipped from country to talk. I did not recognize his voice at first because it was smoother and deeper than his FOX TV show. Guess they can do magic with digital enhancement. People were right though, show seemed kind of boring to me, but to each his own.

Huckabee "DE-TWANGED" for Radio?

Are you really surprised the show is boring? I didn't think there was any way he would sound good doing talk radio, just like Fred Thompson.
It's amazing to me that radio execs still don't seem to have much intuition when it comes to talent. They just figure they'll throw it against the wall and see if it sticks. If you ever wondered whether execs really do take talent for granted, there's your answer. Apparently anybody with name recognition is qualified to do a talk radio show.
Seriously, WHO could possibly have thought that Huckabee was suddenly going to develop the kind of bigger-than-life personality that you need in talkradio---and I'm not just picking on conservative hosts: I found it equally as odd that anyone actually thought Jerry Brown would be the least bit successful as a radio host back in the mid 90s. He sounded horrible.

Unless he finds a VERY interesting celeb who can take over the show for him, whie he takes a nap in the back, it won't matter.
He's quite enjoyable three minutes at a time, but the Paul Harvey format is a little different from a full-length show.

He reminds me of the time they thought Jim Hightower was going to be the liberal incarnation of
Rush Limbaugh.

His show got picked up on WCFO-AM 1160 in Forrest Park, GA (just south of Atlanta and north of where I am) back in April. AM 1160 carries the full three hours starting at 1:00 PM EDT. I was hoping he would have a 15-minute news and commentary program following in the footsteps of the late great Paul Harvey to add to the one that he (Huckabee) succeeded on the 8:30 AM (eastern) 5-minute time slot (actually it ends at four. A PSA makes five). Well my premonition was right, sort of. Only instead of 15 minutes, it's 3 hours.
He still is not cleared in many major markets.
Cumulus is resorting to placing him on fringe stations in some areas, for example, in Ann Arbor, Michigan (no longer an Arbitron market) he is on AM1290 which is barely heard outside of the city limits. He's not cleared in Detroit, even on delay, though Cumulus owns WJR, a 50kW clear channel blowtorch. I've thought that once Mitch Albom's contract was up they'd air the third hour of Hannity and maybe a local news show, but now I suspect they'll play Huckabee on delay as I don't see Limbaugh leaving this station.

I'm a conservative yet I can't get into this show at all. Not only is it sleepy/boring. I don't like the content. For example he interviewed Deb Fischer the tea party candidate who recently won the Nebraska GOP primary. He said to her that if she goes to Washington she will have to reach across the aisle to get things done for the American people..NO NO NO...this is so much what I do NOT want to listen to on a conservative radio show. Today he had a guest bashing the "new right". That was about enough, he lost me. Sorry Cumulus, He will not become the next Rush

To be fair, it's a Saturday show. Sunday is a repeat.
