HUCKABEE REPORT ON WBAP?

I happened to flip over from The Ticket to WBAP just before 11:00 this morning. I heard Mark Davis taking a listener call almost to the start of the hourly news.

Is the Huckabee Report gone or was today just a mishap?

Huckabee should have had 15 minutes like Harvey did. It would have worked better.

But its ironic how much money Paul Harvey made ABC for that 15 minutes but they were damn happy to get it back when he died!

I like The Huckabee Report. It hasn't been on Hal Jay's Show at 0630 this week either. I heard that it was now on another DFW station. But the person I heard that from didn't know which one.
I've also heard speculation that it may just not be on anymore.

Need to correct this a bit - Huckabee had been on at 0530 weekday mornings, not 0630.Originally, it was on at 0730.

IF he runs for president at what point would he have to give up the show?

Good question. I'm not sure exactly, but when Hannity was interviewing Trump earlier this week about his (likely) joining the race he said that he'd wait till after the season ended for his TV show (June) to announce.

I heard it on KLIF this morning during Bolton's show. My friend in the building was apparently correct that they're finally willing to put some energy (& money) into KLIF again. I tuned in out of curiosity and their board/spots sounded alot tighter. Good start.

I'm pretty sure the minute you announce your candidacy for office you have to give up anything you do in the media... Fred Thompson had to leave law & order just after he announced.

Of course, once you're out of office, or lose in the running you can go to tv or radio... Palin, Rove, Spitzer, Gingrich, Huckabee.

Any candidate for political office cannot have any type of regular show/program without their opponent(s) receiving equal time and or agreeing to allowing them to continue to have their show. In the event that Huckabee would run for office, he most certainly would give up his daily report (can't see Citadel giving his opponents equal time - or for that matter, any of them agreeing to let him remain on the air.

A similar situation occurred a few years ago in Houston when Dan Patrick (the politician and majority owner of KSEV AM 700) was running for his first term; Patrick was able to get his opponent to agree to allow him to remain on the air while seeking office. However, this is rather unusual, to say the least, and if we're talking about national politics, I just can't see it happening.

Thanks for clarification. I knew there was something else to it, just couldn't remember.
