Hudson Valley & Poughkeepsie Radio Ratings: Spring 2013

The Hudson Valley and Poughkeepsie spring ratings are in.

Hudson Valley: http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb393
Poughkeepsie: http://ratings.****************/cgi-bin/rol.exe/arb518

I didn't have much to say about these results. WPDH still continues to do well, but I didn't have to do the rest of the numbers and breakdowns, WPKF is still doing well with "Kiss-FM" while WSPK continues to go down a bit further in HV ratings but WSPK never showed up in the Poughkeepsie ratings. As for the rest, not too much, except WGNY's "Fox Oldies", still didn't show up in the spring Poughkeepsie ratings after dropping its simulcast at 1220 AM to go to ESPN to attract some sports listeners after WEPN's 1050 AM went spanish last fall as "ESPN Deportes" and the listeners didn't pick up at 98.7, but thankfully, it's on 97.3 FM in Poughkeepsie after dropping its simulcast of WJGK's "The Fox" at 103.1 back in May or June when it becomes "Fox ESPN" on the FM side, but it sounded almost like it's being heard on 98.7.

I didn't have much to say about "Fox Oldies" though. I was in Florida back on July 4th, I started to record all day of WGNY's "Fox Oldies" at 98.9 from 8:00 AM with the last 2 hours of Van Ritshie right up until Joe Manglass 7 PM for three hours and I skipped the 10 PM hour with "When Radio Was" and then came to 11 PM with the final hour. That was it. I recorded "Fox Oldies" all day on July 4th, but I listened to it, but it sound a lot like it was being heard on WCBS-FM back in the pre-"Jack" days. I have airchecks of Bob O, Van Ritshie, Gene Slater and Joe Manglass which was heard on the 4th of July on "Fox Oldies". I might post it later.

Actually Cumulus Poughkeepsie, is Subscribed to both the Hudson valley, and the Poughkeepsie books. They are the only group to do this. That is why many stations are missing, from one or both books. WEOK, WALL, and WKNY have not shown up in the ratings books in many years. For WEOK it has been over 10 years. They don’t have enough listeners, to show up among those receiving a diary...
Sunrise subscribes to the Hudson Valley book only because they are Newburg based. WGNY-FM broadcasts from Rosendale so their signal is too weak to matter in the Hudson Valley book.
WPDH is #1 in Poughkeepsie but the powerhouse WSPK is a no show because Pamal subscribes to the HV book only not the Poughkeepsie one.
Do the math the stations listed in the HV book only amount to 11.7 % of the audience The Poughkeepsie book 32%. The rest is a black hole of stations that are no longer listed even in the book the public sees. This makes the list meaningless.
