Hudson Valley Hudson Valley Radio Icon Van Ritchie Passes

The owner of Neversink Media's WALL ,Bud Williamson posted this on Facebook Log into Facebook

I remember him as well .Van Ritchie was a big part of Hudson Valley radio for decades. I remember him on WKIP, briefly on WHVW, WKIP again until sister station WRNQ Q92.1 debut I think 1989.
Later he moved to WGNY-FM and finally WALL.. His deep rich voice as well his gregarious maner will always be cherished. He also enjoyed singing with the deep pipes he was blessed with. Altjough he has been off the air for a few years he will always be remembered and missed by young and old alike.
One final time his daily sign off :" I goin to the couch"

That’s very sad. And speaking of Van Ritshie, I have so many airchecks of Van Richie. I used to listened to his morning show, and I’m not a huge fan of Van, so I ended up with my favorite, Scott Shannon on WCBS-FM at the time.

I’ll planned on posting airchecks of Van Ritshie from his days at WGNY-FM’s “Fox Oldies” including his first show from 2011, all the way through his final show from 2022. I’ll work on that soon, and I will not re-editing these airchecks with newer songs that has not been played or should’ve played according to what Scott Fybush was saying, just the normal airchecks, not fantasy or re-creations.
