Hudson Valley Sports Radio

There hasn't been any radio station doing a Sports radio format in a long time. It would be great if some station would try sports radio in the Hudson Valley so that they could cover local sports and take calls from the adea. The only question is what station would be best to go all sports in the Hudson Valley ? Ideas ?

I agree the Mid Hudson Valley needs a sports radio station. I would love to has a local news station, because the Poughkeepsie area is a local new desert. Local stations give two minute briefs, and the Poughkeepsie Journal even less. But I digress, it's another matter. It could have a local focused sports program , as well as local sports coverage. Because of cost factors and the fact that there simply not enough local sports to cover 24/7 a network affiliation, like ESPN or FOX Sports would be necessary
In Poughkeepsie WEPN AM/FM NYC has a poor difficult to listen to signal. I am not aware of a FOX Sports station.
In the past, at different times 1390 WEOK, Poughkeepsie and 1220 WGNY- AM , Newburg tried ESPN without success, or much local content.
After years of struggling ,WEOK seems to have found a niche with Mexican music thanks to two good FM translators, while WGNY has chosen the cheap route simulcasting oldies heard on sister station WGNY-FM

So what station is truly struggling financially as well as the ratings? I don't know. People will speculate , but don't have actual inside knowledge of the broadcast companies financial condition. No broadcaster is satisfied losing money.
