Huge Video and Audio archive project for 107.7 The End

Hey all,

I'm in the preproduction stage of assembling a massive documentary piece for The End's 20th anniversery next year. I'm digging through their closets now but if anybody out there has audio/video/pictures of anything cool from their history I needs it!

Did you pierce your eyebrow on Andy Savage and the Morning End to get into the 2003 end session with Foo Fighters? Ddi you guess the song correctly in No Name's psychic lunch shuffle? I'll be setting up on camera interviews for whistful listeners and former DJs if I can dig up enough resources for this too.

Credit would be given to all those with chutzpah to send me interesting media of any sort or send on contacts or links I haven't dug up yet. Please email me at sthompson at entercom dot com with the "deetz".

Thanks party people!

No one guessed the song correctly in the psychic shuffle lunch. He was actually decreasing the value of the prize with each wrong answer until he got canned for the robot.

Iamashark,

I talked to Andy and he may have some old tapes leftover from the End days. If so, I will shoot you an email. Good luck on putting everything together.

Take care,
Ron

Thanks to everyone who emailed with their stuff! 1 official day into this project and I've got 4+ hours of digital and promises of many VHS tapes in the wings. Still looking for any significant audio clips and I'm bugging MTV to get copies of the real world in seattle. If any one wants a good laugh, here's one of the early KNDD TV spots a few years after the flip:

Man, I forgot about radio impulse... talk about production on the fly, that shift was rough!

In addition to the video stuff I already emailed about ... I know I have the format flip from KMGI to the END ... but I imagine **SOMEONE** else already has that and not off-air capture so it would be cleaner. BUT .... if you come up empty on that audio, feel free to let me know. I remember I was livid when it happened because the owners came to town and were insulting the people running KMGI and it completely lacked class and had no reason to be put on air. You can say you're flipping because you are IMPROVING ... not because "we are embarrassed about the performance of our radio station".

I've got a while to go until I know what's in the stack of reels but total thanks for the offer, I may take you up on that!

At least I get a chance to rip some pretty sweet local compilation albums I discovered from the mid ninties while I'm in there.

How about some old audio from the great KRAB?? They sat on that freq for many many years before finally imploding..I think it would be kinda cool..well, maybe not. Never mind..

I've been looking for some audio from that era before the flip too... If you've got a link or could send on some files that would be a great before segment!

Wow, I've got a lot of stuff to go through... Thanks for everyone who sent on links to materials for this. Good audio from the april fools day prank in 92 when Bill Reid said there was a free Pearl Jam show and 300 people showed up, great phoner from Kris Novoselic and Marco Collins right after the flip in 91. Plus after going through the closet and transcoding old reel to reels I've got most of the sweeps, promos and station IDs for the first five years!

This project has proven so successful, I've been asked to put together something for KISW's big 40th next year too! Thanks to their podcasting and me being a videographer there for the past four years I've got that covered but that's 36 more years I've got to dig up! Anybody got any audio or video gold for either station that hasn't piped up already?

Thanks again y'all!
