Humbug! KHTK Staffers Hound Don Geronimo Over Christmas Trees

KHTK afternoon host Don Geronimo is getting flak from co-workers - including "a single-finger hand gesture" - after asking listeners to bring Christmas trees down to the station's lobby:
http://www.sacbee.com/2010/12/21/3272072/khtk-workers-angered-by-djs-christmas.html

The trees, both live and artificial, would eventually be removed from the building and delivered to a homeless shelter. The main reason some KHTK employees were ticked off about the trees was not because they were "Christmas" trees, but mostly because they were allergic to trees. (Yet The Sacramento Bee still found a way to incorporate Christmas tree workplace advice from HR experts in the same article.)

Wow! As timely as last week's headlines ... is there a Doppler effect when it comes to the SacBee covering a story? This happened more than a week ago (December 13).

The single-finger hand gesture was actually a two-banger by a female employee who then burned rubber out of the Madison Avenue parking lot. She should have been immediately reprimanded by the CBS HR department ... but apparently it's okay to direct an obscene gesture at a co-worker in anger, while a mass hysterical outbreak of Sudden Christmas Tree Allergy Syndrome becomes an all-encompassing human resources issue.

This was a promotion worked up by Don Geronimo -- bring in a bunch of Christmas trees, which would then be donated to a local charity that is putting up several homeless families in local hotels for Christmas. Rather than mining it as a positive for KHTK, a bunch of KHTK staffers decided to whine to HR about it.

Perhaps the CBS/Sacramento sales team (and the precious engineer who first succumbed to this horrendous malady and HAD TO WEAR A GAS MASK TO WORK) (!!!!) should get their collective @$$e$ out of the building and do some work for a change.

In the end, they are just trees to make things festive. I'm not sure why it caused such bad feelings at KHTK, aside from perhaps they made it hard to navigate around the station. I don't buy the allergy bit, I suppose those same people's delicate senses make it impossible for them to even be outside. The flowers, trees etc must drive them to distraction!

Christmas tree alergy? C'mon! Now I've heard everything! I bet that same chick comes to work with perfume on. Isn't THAT air pollution??? ::)

I was talking to one of my colleagues this morning. At the end of the call I said, "Merry Christmas". There was silence on the other end of the line. I guess he's a Scrooge too! I hope 3 angels don't visit him tomorrow night! ;)

Perhaps there was CB interference on the line and he thought you said "anal mammogram."

LMAO! That is always a possibility! It would also explain why I instantly puckered up. :p
