Let me try to explain this to you another way so you can "get it" because it's obvious you don't......
The term "prize pig" is used "in house." It's not a term you use on the air. Yes, it refers to the listener that plays all station's contests but 99.9 percent of your listening audience doesn't know what a "prize pig" is.
Even if the winner WAS a "prize pig" your audience doesn't know that. Their only perception is that you screwed over the winner. What are you gonna do, go on the air and say, "yea, we lied...but it's okay cause the winner was just a prize pig anyway." .......I'm sure they'll understand.
Hey, maybe you can use that defense in the upcoming litigation!
"Yes, your honor we admit we commited fraud...but lets face it, the winner was just a prize pig."
Bottom line here.... if you run a contest that not only deceives your audience but then humiliates them, you will almost certainly alienate them. Let's just say their eager participation in your next contest will be minimal, that is if they're around for it anymore. You've heard of the boy who cried wolf, eh?
And then to add insult to injury you call them a "prize pig"?
Sounds like a little mis-direction at work to turn everyone's attention away from a poorly planned and executed promotion.
Oh and just a little FYI.....I have been in this business for the last 20 years and
I've seen better...but not much worse.
