Tony Jordan, news director and anchor at WEUP AM/FM in Huntsville, passed away this morning at Huntsville Hospital at the age of 37. He was a reporter/anchor at WAAY-TV 31 for a few years before moving to WEUP radio where he has been for several years. I don't know the official cause of death yet, but everyone is saying that he was in the hospital for nemonia when he died. He will be missed, and I send my condolences to his family, friends, and the staff of WEUP radio.

A tremendous loss. Jordan was one of the few true radio news anchors on the air nowadays, especially at stations like WEUP. He'll definitely be missed, that's for sure.

Not living in H-town and havng never heard his broadcasts, I'm impressed with what he accomplished both on and off the air. According to the story, Mr. Jordan was a real asset to his listening audience and not just another air personality.
(In this day of outsourced news and consolidated staffs, I'm also impressed that WEUP even has "news interns", though that probably has more to do with good local ownership.)<P ID="signature">______________

I knew Tony Jordan.
Never worked with him, but knew him. Tony was a great individual. He was a hard worker, a very good journalist and a real leader in broadcasting. He was never frightened of a politician. Tony will be missed. I no longer work in Huntsville, but was there for several years. I wish I knew him better know.
