Huntsville's numbers

Not much to talk about other than the HUGE drop WEUP took. What happened? I haven't listened to them in a while so I dunno. Did they make a big change that's not working out or something? Congrats to Hot 103.5 for beating WEUP for the first time 12+.

Bad signal or not .. the station has shown fairly strong numbers from book to book .. to drop 50% of the audience 12+ they would have had to shut down the transmitter .. something just ain't right here guys!

I agree. A bad signal has never seemed to cause them too much trouble with getting numbers. They've maintained good numbers for a few years now, even since Hot 103.5 came on. Even years ago, before 93.3 came on as urban, WEUP maintained number 2 with 10+ every book. I haven't seen the break down yet so I'm not sure about that but that's a BIG drop in just a couple of months 12+. I wonder what's going on.

This may not be of any importance, but I've noticed that WEUP has started playing a lot of slow R&B late at night. That's what I usually hear when I am coming home from work around 11:30 PM -12AM. Of course, it may just be me, since I'm usually listening to 100.3 The River or when I get closer to home 106.3 WBTG.

PS: I doubt the less than perfect signal is the culprit. WQAH 105.7's tower is in the NW corner of Cullman County, and its ratings are doing fine considering its format.

This is "not a problem for Arbitron" .. they will call this a wobble! Try explaining a wobble to an ad agency .. the vultures will milk this for all it's worth and try and nickle and dime Hundley Batts and crew to death. Hate to see this and until somebody has a chance to dig into the numbers and find out where the diaries went or didn't go this will continue to be a mystery.

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasen't WEUP always played "The Quiet Storm" slow r&b at night from 10p to 2a? Except on weekends of course.
