A big jump for The Rocket. I haven't listened to them in a while. What changes have they made over there that would cause this ratings spike? Any Rocket listeners here have any assumptions? It seems like a good book for rock in general as WTAK also came out pretty well right behind The Rocket. Both have their strongest showing is a while! Congrats to them.
Same question for Lite 96.9 WRSA. What rescent changes have they done over there that is causing their downward spiral? I've noticed they now say "Today's Lite 96.9". What the "today" part is supposed to mean I don't know considering they don't play much of today's music. I haven't really listened long enough to find out or notice any other changes. You certainly can't say that their competition Star 99.1 is taking their listeners away because their numbers are abysmal, and continue to worsen! :
On the country side, WDRM took a small hit, but continues their number 1 dominance as usual. WQAH pulled a bit from them with their classic country format and have a strong showing at #8. They always surprise me how well they do considering their terrible rimshot signal. It makes me wonder if WQAH had a strong signal in Huntsville how much their numbers would actually climb. Enough to knock WDRM off the top? Isn't there a translator they could apply for in Huntsville or something to improve coverage?
The newness of the Steve Harvey morning show has seemed to have worn off for Hot 103.5. They are back down to 3rd in the urban battle. WHRP has a solid lead in this book with urban a/c while WEUP continues to be number 1 for urban mainstream.
That's about all I really see worth noting. Take it or leave it. Any other comments/observations anyone?
