Hurricane Evacuation Sign Radio Stations

Some of the above linked info is way out of date and needs to be updated. Several of the stations have changed call letters and I know of one station that doesn't exist anymore.

Yeah I know it's out of date (WLSS) dating it back to Loose 102 phase in the 1990s.. but other than some corrected signs, those are pretty much the stations that are picked, however there are a few areas where this isn't the norm (as I've seen a few signs in bayou country leading to the local stations instead of the New Orleans stations due to distance is my guess)

North Florida uses college owned NPR stations, but when they printed and hung up the signs they didn't look at the coverage area. Some signs are posted 50 miles outside of the stations realistic coverage area.

Example, WFSU (Tallahassee/Panama City) has signs all the way to the west of Crestview while 100kw WUWF (Pensacola) only has one sign east of Pensacola. The only good thing about the Florida system is that all the frequencies are in the non-com band, so even if the frequency is out of range, another good channel is just one or two channels away when you punch the seek button.

That's a good idea!

Boy that was garbage for radio in my opinion. Far from the original Loose Radio.
