Hurricane Ida

I think KVDU has 2nd adjacent KWMZ blocking it from moving south. Back in the early 2000s there was an application to move 104.1 closer to NOLA on a 1500 foot tower. I think WZRH would have the easier time. It could move to the master antenna on the west bank and still put a 60dbu into Laplace.

Sort of. WZRH appears to be less constrained by adjacent signals, but in order to get a 70 dBu to Laplace it would need to be at least a C1 from the west bank, or possibly a C0. I guess they could "backfill" Laplace with another station and then pick some new community for WZRH, but that is now a multi-step multi station process that will take a long time and is less definite.

KVDU can't move to the tower farm, but it could move much closer to the population in St. Charles Parrish or the northern part of Jefferson, the problem though is that i am not sure there are any suitable existing structures in the area.

We regards to KWMZ and KVDU the concern is just keeping one stations 100 dBu outside of the others 60 dBu. So if you pull up the map of KWMZ, any potential KVDU can't be inside that circle or within a few miles outside of it.

That was a bit of a typing error. I meant KGOW nights, but good daytime candidates would be 560 KLVI Beaumont and 1030 KCTA Corpus Christi, thanks to them both being right on the water. As far a local alternative, why not 640 KTIB?
640 has issues and even if it didn't, the signal beams southeast from the tower site...doesn't cover the Gulf region as well as 870 or 560, which is 5kw omni during daylight hours. KGOW nights?? It won't get outside metro Houston.

Tower issues, I persume? I think there should be a rule where if the station struggles to cover its own area due to issues, they have a certain amount of time to fix it. KJMP, KJME, and KZMX have had tower "issues" for years, LOL. As for KGOW, it's a consistent visitor to Wyoming, despite being directional.

WZRH cannot move to WB due to IF spacing. Same for 104.1. It's Vacherie or nada
That's a good point and when I was spitballing it I did not look up the IF spacing.

That said, the IF problem for KVDU, for example, is co-owned WQUE which is just barely a C0 (by 1 m). If KVDU downgraded to a C1, the requirement is only 23 miles. If iHeart refiled WQUE as a C1, which would likely not require anything other than an application, then it is just 21 miles. Assuming there is a suitable tower around Norco/Hahnville/Destrehan, that would get it about half way closer to the center of NOLA than the collapsed tower. So I am not quite sure Vacherie or nothing is correct.

But using the aux while insurance pays to rebuild the old tower might still make the most sense.

I think KVDU has 2nd adjacent KWMZ blocking it from moving south as well as issuesi to 93.3 through intermodulation interference. I think WZRH would have the easier time. It could move to the master antenna on the west bank and still put a 60dbu into Laplace.

Im mistaken, there was an app to move 104.1 to the Baton Rouge Market and then move 103.7 from Hattiesburg to NOLA. Guaranty fought it tooth and nail. See below.
