Hurricane Kyle

For those of you that think Boston and US radio is so bad think again, I have family in the Maritimes and was interested in how they getting by

Pulling up a list of commercial stations streaming in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island including CBC One and Two from Moncton, Charlottetown,
Yarmouth, Halifax and St John....Every one of them were playing what seemed to
be tracked music with CBC one playing jazz and CBC two playing classical.

Even big CFCY was playing tracked country music with no mention of winds forecast for Charlottetown during night to be over 120KM

WBZ dosen't hold a candle to the old WEEI CBS 590 but it is still pretty damn
good overall especially during severe weather.
In the past CBA would have covered this non stop for all the fishing fleet.

It was a bit of a non-event as it turned out. Canadian radio and especially maritime radio isn't as prone to overkill. The fishing fleet knew what was coming and stayed out of the water. Yarmouth and Bridgewater I believe had pretty extensive coverage, but they were in the most danger. There was very little damage in the region and only a few sporadic power outages. What, exactly, were the stations supposed to run? Nonstop coverage of, well, not much? Most of the stations in Halifax were manned, in case things got out of hand. But existing programming carried on. Charlottetown barely got more than a rain shower this morning and a bit of a breeze. Halifax got some strong winds overnight but barely any rain. If there was a danger, you can rest assured that the stations would've provided necessary coverage.
