Hurricane Nate

Was there any significant hurricane coverage of Mate other than WPMI-TV simulcast by the I heart stations? Was listening to WKSJ online around midnight when the hurricane made landfall in Biloxi and the switched to After Midnight. The other FM's went back to music. WNTM stayed with them with their tiny AM night signal.

Nate never got bad enough to rain fade my Dish signal... so I never turned on the radio last night.
Did anything happen to those AM stations located on sand bars in Mobile Bay?

I couldn't pick up any of the Mobile AMs after dark with my portable radios, so I was stuck with FM. Sunny 105.7 seemed to be doing regular updates when I checked in on them; WAVH was carrying WKRG audio. We lost our DirecTV signal multiple times through the night so we mostly watched 10 and 15 off the air.

One thing I did notice was that the iHeart stations audio from WPMI was just horrifically bad. They seemed to have an open mic next to a TV speaker! Classy.

WKRG was promoting their audio simulcast on WXQW. Did WXQW stay on with 10kw or were they advertising a simulcast nobody could hear?

Nate was basically a non event (for most). Event the news media could not find find that much. The old billboard falling in Mobile was about the only shot, and flooded parking lots, and tree limbs. Not worth interrupting programming for radio stations.
