Hurricane Sandy coverage

WIBG1020 AM & WIBBAGEFM&94.3 STORMWATCH TEAM COVERAGE

WIBG1020AM and WIBBAGE [email protected] continues its tradition of strong, pro-active
local team coverage with Hurricane Sandy. Our team provides hour by hour
coverage with street reporters throughout Southern and Central New Jersey.
Storm prep coverage began at 6am Saturday and we are covering for the duration
of this epic storm. WIBG AM & FM's strong local presence is widely recognized by
local and regional officials as the "go to radio stations'. With the strength of its signals and the commitment to serving our cities of license and the WIBBAGE tradition of
great radio, it is reflected in our popularity and our incredible economic growth
during the past decade.

I think this may be the funniest thing I've ever read. Being totally delusional is quite the go to characteristic for go to reliability.

The station has no news department. No remote equipment. No reporting capability. No credibility....I could go on. The weather crystal is more reliable.

At the first gust of wind over 30 mph it will also have no power. At the first power surge kiss the transmitters goodbye for weeks to come. In fact that is my prediction. It will be then last station to return to the air in the entire market once power is restored to this tooth-pic telephone pole power supplied remote misconfigured tower location in the entire South Jersey area.

WOND is doing round-the-clock coverage and its sisters are updating twice an hour.

Listening over streams from far away, it sounds like they're now simulcasting on 102.7 WWAC. New Jersey 101.5 has also started their coverage, would think they'll start simulcasting on the AC stations soon.

And now 103.7 WMGM is off the air. Their regular feed can still be heard online.

WIBBAGE STORMWATCH

Both WIBG1020AM and WIBBAGE FM continue to stay live and local
with power remaining up. We are operating at full power. Receiving calls
from listeners in South Jersey, Virginia, Philadelphia and will continue to
stay live and local. We have re-colocated the stations from our WIBG Transmitter
site, which is high and wet. Our thanks to our staff helping to make the
transition.

I am listening to NJ101.5 on the live stream and they so far have done well with the coverage. Steve Trevalise was on at 7 last night instead of the regular programming and Ray Rossi was scheduled for later that night.

Listening to Dennis and Judi and they are doing expanded traffic coverage with North/South reporters (sounds like Pete Tauriello and Bob Williams) instead of just the one during non-rush hour.

Dennis and Judi are broadcasting out of different studios (Dennis in one, Judy in another) today

Chris Christie is still scheduled to appear on "Ask the Governor" tonight at 7.

Which mean they're practically off the air. They're studio's are flooded out or on the verge of. The newsroom isn't flooded out because they don't have a newsroom. It's an example of what not to do when you have no budget to broadcast or run a legitimate broadcast operation. Lie, cheat and fake everybody out on Radio-Info. Looks like we have discovered another broadcast fraud. Shouldn't come as any surprise.

Re: Stations off air because of Sandy

If you have a radio app or internet, NJ101.5 is broadcasting.

Their generator powering the FM signal busted and they are working to repair it.

Their phone lines are down (as are many around the state) but they are monitoring their facebook page and twitter for information.

Apparantly, WPUR is on the air from a low-power backup, but I can't get them in Toms River ..

NJ 101.5 is still off the air. (But 103.3 WPRB is on, and I thought they share the same tower?)

540 WLIE, 570 WMCA, 600 WICC, 640 WWJZ, 820 WNYC, 850 WAXB, 1010 WINS, 1070 WKMB, 1170 WWTR, 1190 WLIB, 1350 WHWH, and 1600 WWRL are all of the air as well.

1010 WINS is transmitting on 92.3 FM, while 880 WCBS was simulcasting on 102.7 for a while but now Fresh is back on.

1450 WCTC was on their low power backup transmitter until around 1 PM but now seems to be transmitting full power again.

I would like to thank the fine people at WIBG for getting us through the storm! Never missed a beat! I applaud your efforts as you provided fantastic coverage all through the storm even when the majority of stations were off the air. Thank you for keeping local residents informed! :)

WIBG-AM 1020 is the only AM in the Atlantic City - Cape May County region that is still on the air. And WIBG-FM 94.3 has been on the air through the entire storm, while WAYV, WFPG and WMGM (the big 50k flamethrowers) went dark. Their coverage has been as good as anyone else's.

Me thinks somebody on this forum has quite the axe to grind again'st WIBG. Still carrying a grudge I guess that someone grabbed those historic calls.

Well, it's Wed 10/31, and several station's signals still have holes in the dial. But WIBG isn't one of them...AM or FM. They never skipped a beat even during the height of the storm, offering fresh, updated weather and fresh News. And I'm NOT concerned where it came from...hey KYW gets it's AccuWeather from Joel Meyers in studios in State College PA! It doesn't effect the data or story, does it?

Worked for me!
