Slightly out of the region, but WAEB-AM in Allentown simulcasted WFMZ-TV news during usual local news air times, but regrettably did not do so while WFMZ was wall-to-wall news.

Annoyingly, when we lost power 8:30 PM monday night, WAEB was airing its usual right-of-center political talk. That was it for us...switched to public radio instead...

If you want to hear just how bad this storm was and how this area got off pretty lightly, listen to the stream of WRNJ Hacketstown NJ. People are reporting that their electric won't be back on until December! As usual, KYW did a very good job.

Too bad because the WFMZ coverage may have really helped some stranded listeners instead of the rehashed political talk. Here in Montgomery County the power was out 3 days - tuned to WNPV Lansdale for information but instead got their usual low-level syndicated programming. When the local news was introduced as "It's 2 minutes past hour & time for local news on 'Inforadio..." knew that it was as usual after morning rush, the same taped local news as the last hour repeated all day long...I remember back when local stations WBUX & WNPV were daytimers but in a weather emergemcy would stay on at low power to provide detailed local information - those days are long gone replaced by auto-pilot stations on all night but providing no needed services...
