Hy Lit and Bykofsky columns

I am very surprised by the lack of reaction on the board to the two recent columns by Philadelphia Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky regrarding Hy Lit. It is truly a sad state of affairs and really shows just how awful a business radio broadcasting can be. I remember listening to Hyski at WIbbage in the golden days and listened to him on Sunny and Oldies 98 as well. I wish him the best and plan to support any type of event, hopefully a star-studded oldies concert, that will be both enjoyable and allow Hyski's fans to give back to a guy who has given us so many good memories.

I didn't see the columns 'cause we only can get The Inquirer up here. I would like to add my show of appreciation for HY. Next to the work we grew up with on Wibbage, Hy was great, and I do mean great, when he was doing the middays at WPGR.

Not To Put A Damper On Things

With all due respect to Hy Lit, his time has come and gone. While I know he is sick and can't afford to pay for his medicine, why should we be the ones to fork over our hard earned money for his lack of investments. He was making 6 figures not too long ago and could have very well saved money. Apparently his irresponsibility has gotten the worst of him and now can't afford his medicine. Again, I respect everything Hyski has done in his radio career, but there are some more important things out there like a WAR and TERRORISTS. Hy is old now, that's what happens to everyone. I wish nothing but the best for Hy Lit but I'm sorry, he should have invested his money wisely.

Wow. No words can be brought to explain how I feel. So sorry you'd rather spend you're money on killing people than saving them. If this was any other of the "G8" nations he wouldn't have to worry about paying for his medicine due to the National Healthcare those country's have.

I hope one day you can be sitting there and wondering why you have no medicine so the politicans can look at you and say sorry we have more important things like WAR and TERRORISTS.

The bottom line of Stu's columns is that Hyski went from making $140,000 a year to $700 a month and that the medication needed to control his Parkinson's disease is now more than $1200 a month. Also Hyski lost his wife and could really use a boost. Stu also mentioned that former Inquirer columnist Clark DeLeon is trying to arrange an oldies concert to help Hy.

yeah, sounds like someone lived the life,
And then the harder they come the harder they'll fall,
One and all
Ooh the harder they come the harder they'll fall,
One and all
