Hy Lit is going live and taking your questions

Hy Lit will be live on HyLitRadio.com on the first day of summer, Tuesday, June 20th, beginning at 5pm, as HyLitRadio initiates the summer schedule of live events. This is the first roll-out of some of the ambitious projects under development at HyLitRadio, as we move toward a portable signal protocol that will further delineate the differences between the internet experience and terrestrial radio. But the true magic is yet to come with a virtual internet protocol under development at HyLitRadio that will allow you to take a virtual drive through Philadelphia and beyond, in the Hy Lit '57 Chevy. “All My hipsters’, flipsters’, cool baby sitters and radio aficionados alike are invited”, to join Hy in this live broadcast at the Woodbine Inn on Rt73, in Pennsauken N.J. promptly at 5pm, as he will be taking your questions and comments in person, on the air. Be there or be square.

I didn't know Hy Lit in the early years. In fact I didn't know him until his later years at WOGL, when I joined as a talent. He was (is) as smooth as silk, and was very kind to me, a radio rookie compared to him (even with 25 years as major market jock under my belt). It was a glorious experience to clown around with him between breaks in the studio. I loved listening to Hyski. And still do at HyLitRadio.com.

off topic, but are you the Cadillac-Jack who was on WXTU or did he kinda take your name?

I guess this means Hy liked being interviewed and taking questions on Radio Racket last week. :)

Klein reports Hy Lit Q&A

Inquirer columnist Mikey Klein in today's paper:
Philly radio legendHy Lit is back doing oldies remotes. He reports he'll be doing Tuesday nights (5 to midnight), starting tonight, at the Woodbine Inn on Route 73 in Pennsauken.

Interesting. Now he mentions Lit's own Q&A show but he did not mention Hy Lit's interview appearance (either when first scheduled or re-scheduled) on Radio Racket. He also mentioned RJ's show in his column. Is there a reason Klein has not mentioned Radio Racket (especially given some of the other things he HAS mentioned)? Could he have his nose out of joint because rival columnist Laura Nachman was on the show, and also because she helped them set up a last minute interview with Phil Neuman?

Nahhh.. Reason is a bit less sinister. Kyle reached out to pitch me about Radio Racket just as I was leaving for vacation on May 9. I DID post it on my Q&A Forum at philly.com, but it slipped my mind to include it in the column when I got back.

p.s. "Fred" ... drop me an email ([email protected]). I have a question for you.

Yes sir. Also the Cadillac-Jack on Pirate Radio in Los Angeles (KQLZ) with Scott Shannon, WAVA in DC, and so many other markets....AND..now....Back in Philly. O, btw, I was at Q-102 2 times. In 1993, AND in 2000. Somehow I survived.
