Hy say's bye, to WOGL

And hello to the Internet! It is definitive, that this Sunday will conclude Hy Lit's radio tenure at WOGL FM in Philadelphia. A settlement agreement has been signed this Friday, precipitating the immediate resignation on Hy's part, with a singular, scheduled final broadcast. WOGL management considers this a planned and coordinated publicized event, although a closer examination may reveal a determined conclusion to a 16 year contribution to the radio undertaking, at one of Infinity radios' Philadelphia broadcast outlets. It is, and has been consistent of the management at WOGL, a conduct of their radio broadcast license representation to the Philadelphia community and the FCC, to act in this accord, in which is strange, to this reporter, and contrary to the adage, printed on their license, "License renewed and granted to serve in the community interest".
I have the distinct priveledge of speaking for Hy, when I say, he is looking forward to transitioning to the Internet, so that, an independent radio broadcast voice can continue to be heard.

No need to be this civil, Sam, let WOGL have it!

As sad as I am to see your father leave traditional radio, I look forward to the both of you (and Andy Volvo too) letting loose on the 'Net!

Will Hy be allowed to say goodbye and talk about it being a final show on the air?

Thanks for the memories, Hyski. My first real memories of music radio are of my older sister doing her homework in the kitchen every night with Hy Lit on Wibbage playing while she worked. I wasn't really listening myself then, but yet I remember all the songs of that era, plus all the old Wibbage jingles and Hy's patter. I really started listening during the new Wibbage era of 1969 when Hy returned, then Hyski's Underground, WTRT, WRCP, WSNI, WPGR, and on to WOGL. Be sure to check my the little clip of Hy on WSNI on the Airchexx site.
Joe Niagara and Hyski - where we first heard all that great music! Thanks, and good luck with the website - sounds good, hope Hy can be on live someday - how about a Hall of Fame show & a top 20 countdown weekends!

He will be missed from WOGL, and he was part of my Sunday nights for as long as I could get WOGL. Best of luck to his internet station!

BTW, I will be airchecking it if anyone wants a copy.......<P ID="signature">______________

Hy Lit radio on the internet is the first REAL Philadelphia music station that I have heard since leaving town in 1983. It is wonderful to listen to and the songs are just as I remember them from my days at Drexel.
