Hyland's placement amongst WFAA anchors

Jackie "Diana" Hyland, I noticed today, stands in front of all the morning anchors/"talent" on WFAA's billboards. This usually indicates a level of prominence above the others (like Troy placed in front of the weather team in past photos and promos.) SO...is Hyland establishing the lead role for herself yet, or still just settling in over there? I saw her today on GMT, and they've changed her makeup and hair some, making her look much younger. She smiles more and seems to be interacting more. So is SHE the one they're grooming for bigger and better things there? I was under the impression at first that she and Justin were equals. Or am I just responding to sweeps tactics?

Speaking of those billboards, Alexa/Morticia is curiously placed at the back of EVERYONE. And notice that an Alexa look-a-like is hawking some trade school on the local indy channels now. Of ALL the people in the world to emulate...

Sortof, but not only front and center. The western eye sees things left to right, so the lead anchor is usually to the far left (no jokes, please). The same reason the male anchor is almost always portside to the viewer. Chances are Jackie's placement has as much to do with her height as her feature role. She's about 5 inches taller than Alexa.

Doubtful that she's being groomed for anything other than where she is, at least for the forseeable future. Like middays are the new-school money-makers for radio, mornings are the new-school money-makers for TV. Cable news robs broadcast TV of far more viewers in the evening, there's far less of that kind of churn in the morning (when people need to know local traffic, weather, etc.), and stations have their best chance to develop brand loyalty. Smart stations know you'd better not change morning teams willy-nilly if you want to reassure viewers of your consistency. See: "The CBS Early Show".

As for Alexa, she's far better than many in the last four decades...and I've been here through that time to know.

We disagree Jody between the hair flicking, and the dry personality she is one of the worst in the last four decades. She needs to be in Waco, Tyler, or Little Rock,to cultivate her skills if any, not Dallas.

Send her to the backwoods of East Texas. I'd hate to see any of the Central Texas stations going any lower than they already are

Not sure that even the back woods (of any state) would be quite
ready, either.
