Is it true the actual name W-I-B-B-A-G-E was trademarked by the owner of WIBG FM??

I haven't found anything official about that... but it's definitely a possibility. With Clear Channel laying claim to Kiss FM, and them suing Beasley over "Wild" when 96.5 when CHR/Rhythmic.

And you can't stream WIBG-FM on your own, either. They run a warning message on the air that says so. Hilarious!!!

Wow! I never knew that WIBG was incorporated down the road from me. That's about the biggest thing that Allentown has going for it.

Glad to see the recognition for the web station - too bad Hyski's not here to appreciate it (although the news should have traveled to the Penthouse of the Hy Lit Hall of Fame by now...or is Elvis still in there?). A truly fun station especially for those who grew up with WIBG - a great long playlist of Philly favorites, all those great jingles from here & elsewhere, and Hy's voice between songs. My only comment besides is that with so much added content on the home page sometimes it's harder to find the 'listen' link (the real reason for the site) from when the site started - but that would be the success of the business end which keeps it going.

I have Sirius 5 and 6 and access to all the other oldies stations streaming, but on the computer HyLitRadio is my first choice. I grew up with Wibbage mid-60's to '77 and this is the closest thing to the real thing (sorry, Jersey, the automated-sounding Wildwood station doesn't come close). Other than 9-Midnight Sunday nights with a former Hyski intern, I have no reason to listen to commercial radio for 'oldies'.
