Hypothetical question for online streamers about online newscasts

I have a hypothetical question to those who have been streaming TV shows and movies online. If television were to go away and the Internet became the single medium of communication, would you still visit local news websites? If they offered an online newscast for streaming, would you watch? If so, what would you expect from it?

Any thoughts and insights are greatly appreciated!!!

I wouldn't, as long as we had a newsradio station. In Chicago we have WBBM AM780 and it covers Chicago much better than any TV station, it gives you news, not fluff and it gives you more news, not filler.

They tell you there was an earthquake in China, where, the number of casulties, the strength and such. On TV we dont' get that we get some guy saying how a high school student died and how much he wanted to be a doctor some day.

You see what I mean instead of "hard news" just fluff that appeals to heartstrings.

Beside TV news sites are so busy and full of ads they are hard to look at

Really, I would prefer a video and/or audio podcast of local news. And if you absolutely can't or won't podcast, please have a stream that repeats the most recent newscast until the next live one, or just a "stream on demand" option.

I can't imagine being "forced" to visit a website at a specific day and time. The content should be available when I visit, no matter what day / time that is.

I think they should continue to offer "On Demand" Newscasts on the radio and television web sites, in
addition, i think more TV outlets should show their news "live" on the internet, WRAL-TV in Raleigh is a
good example, just about all of their newscasts are shown live online, and between 8am and 7pm Monday
thru Friday they stream the "WRAL Newschannel" which they call during that time "WRAL TV At Work"

stream, stream, stream....
most radio stations are doing it and have been for some time.

Television stations should be streaming their newscasts if they aren't already.
"On Demand" is great because we all want information to be up-to-date and available on our schedule.

Besides, as soon as my Blackberry Bold gets here... I want to be able to watch those newscasts whenever/wherever I want!!!
