Hysterical

To say that "it's over" is arrogant at best; foolish at the worst. They have yet to have one ratings book under their belt yet you Mr. Microphone and Slipqueue have seemed to determined that Blueberry has accomplished some ratings achievement.

Shall we all not wait until the Fall ratings come out?? Or are you that foolish...that foolish to think that you can grow anything by cutting resources. It has never happened in any company, in any industry, and it definitely doesn't happen in broadcasting/

By the way, Mr. McMillan. Your little email about how great the "local" company is when they put 20+ people on the unemployment line, was f**ing emabarrassing at best. I hope you have great success in your voice over business, and I really mean that, because I highly doubt there is any one in Maine that is going to hire you. They ALL read the boards here. Every GM, every PD in Maine Radio.

I would love to be wrong Joe, and see if Blueberry is willing to do that!! You are a vendor with them aren't you???

Lou:Considering you seem to be new to these boards, please keep in mind that most of us have been here for years and have never been employed by your current or former company. We do however have deep contacts, among those who remain, within your new company.

It's not my company. I have nothing to do with them. I was just pointing out the whole idea of starting a thread trashing a company based on their email.

Pretty silly...

Unfortunately, you have a company with absolutley no loyalty to the new owners, so these revenue numbers are quite common place

Huh?

adbuyer1 said:
Of course, if you're not with Blueberry, then you won't actually care about the revenue now would you?

I could care less about their revenue....or anything about them.

Again, simply pointing out the silliness of this thread.

Mr Microphone:

GMAIL is NOT a "smart" solution as Lou claims. It is a bandaid, duct tape, and a very DUMB solution at that because of the immediate impression and perception it give to A) employees of the company and B) advertisers of the company. That perception is of being unprepared to operate a company.

Don't be ridiculous. If someone makes that assumption simply based on a domain, then they are foolish.

It could say "Here is my personal email account, don't be afraid to contact me you can contact me anytime, day, night, weekends...!"

Just to show you that not everyone reaches the same shallow conclusions.

It would be smarter to take the word of someone who has/is working for them, a pro like Joe McMillan, who posts under his real name,(instead of trashing him) than someone making a snap judgement under an anonymous name.

Again, sounds like sour grapes.

Classic Adbuyer move...I do believe you dodged Lou's question. How does the DOMIAN affect ratings or revenue??

You're the one who spoke of logic a few posts back...GIVE US YOUR LOGIC AND ANSWER LOU'S QUESTION!!!!!!!!!

And I noticed he still didn't answer the question.

Jeesh, how would you like to have "Mr Adbuyer1" working at your radio?

As was pointed out....poison.

I had to go back to see what was said as being "over" and I believe you are referring to Slipqueue saying to Joe "it was over before it started." Once again, I think the person of average intelligence got that Slip was talking about this issue...that was over before it started...or let simplify it for you: your argument was a joke.

By the way, no one on this board has said Blueberry has accomplished anything ratings wise (I certainly didn't, so don't put words in my mouth). Once again...taking peoples posts and twisting their words to make your argument.

As for cutting resources, sometimes you have to when you run a business. If you are a radio professional and you don't expect something like this to happen under an ownership change, you really need to open your eyes. That being said, it sucks for those who were let go and I feel for each of you...I know, I've been there (different company, different market).

First off, Joe, welcome back. :)

Secondly and most importantly, has anyone entertained the notion that perhaps Blueberry DID have all their ducks in a row, but was let down or delayed by the folks they ended up doing business with? And if that's the case, what the heck did you want? A press release stating sorry our website isn't up and running yet but Joe Schmoe failed to get the product out on time? That would be bad business too.

Or perhaps as much as they would have liked to have timed everything out perfectly, that they shouldn't have been able to get the ball rolling without knowing for sure the deal would close? I mean, if I recall correctly, don't they have some stations that need to be spun off? How do you gear up for an approval, knowing that something could put a monkey wrench in the works?

By all accounts, it looks like it was a temporary solution and they knew it, and probably were forced into it, rather than dealing with the unforeseen and unintentional image that it looks as if they weren't prepared.
