I-85 closure

If you are a live and local station this was a great time to shine vs. the voicetrackers. Giving up to the minute updates on I-85 where the sign was knocked down at marker 68 in Spartanburg County. Kudos to SCDOT crews for working feverishly to get that cleaned up. Fascinating to watch and relay the latest updates in real time. Lots of calls of appreciation.

I meant to post this several months ago, but radio could have really been beneficial during one phase of construction on the new Yadkin River bridge. I don't know whether this was done, but earlier this year they shut down the northbound lanes for some work and detoured traffic through the little town of Spencer. And they may have done this for southbound traffic too at some point. For the northbound people, it would have been nice to have a warning on Charlotte radio (and maybe Greeniulle radio, too) occasionally at the proper time to get people to take I-485, I-77 and I-40 instead.
