I-95 vs. 'PLRs' Memorial Weekend Programming

I-95 - "Memorial Day 500" - "500 Greatest Rock Songs Of All Time"

'PLR - "Ticket Picnic Weekend" (tickets to concerts in CT this Summer to the 9th caller when they hear the sounder)

What would you rather hear, or win?

IMHO, listeners would rather win tickets to the concerts this Summer, but they'd also like to hear the 500 greatest rockers of all time.

I-95, the "Home Of Rock & Roll" could've given away tix.

&, 'PLR could've done more than given away tix to the 9th caller - if you're not the 9th caller, you're pretty disappointed, & you're weekend is not as happy as it could have been.

'PLR should've put together some kind of countdown, highlighting the music they play to back up their moniker as "CTs' #1 Rock Station".

Or they could've played some amazing tunes for this "special" weekend like WEBE 108 did. They added some amazing summer tunes this weekend!

Does 'PLR actually play 500 songs? I'd think that there'd be quite an "oh wow" factor to the music until they reached No. 300 or thereabouts, which is probably why such a countdown wasn't in 'PLR's plans.

DRC-FM also did a Memorial Day 500 this year. It sounded incomplete. A bunch of songs that the station plays regularly were left off the "top 500" so all the tried-and-true super hits could be played.
