I AM CONCERNED ABOUT 99X

I don't see much competition with 100.5 and 99x because the playlists aren't really similar at all. I mean, unless 100.5 is played Silversun Pickups, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Prodigy and missed it.

I've given up on 100.5. I thought the playlist as good in the beginning (classic hard rock-ish)....and now I find it rather broad and unfocused.

Three Marlenas - The Wallflowers
De Do Do Do, De Da Da - Police
Hunger Strike - Temple of the Dog
Wonderful - Everclear
Don't Change - INXS
Rockstar - Nickelback
Small Town - John Cougar Mellencamp
Walk The Ocean - Toad The Wet Sprocket
This Must Be The Place - Talking Heads

It just seems like they can't decide what to play regularly, so I would define them as a DAVE clone. I'm sure Coldplay and DMB has had it's fair coverage as well.

Hey Cummulus,

Turn this format into 99 - Lite , Peach 99 or whatever.

This town needs an easy listening station AC station.
You know a #2 station voted to listen to at work.

With the right promotion, you would have a a Top 10 station within a year.

Sad thing is, you're probably right. Since WJZZ flipped there's been no "environmental" station in ATL.

99X at 97.9 has pretty much lost me.

The music is just not exciting. No personalities, no energy, no passion.

It almost sounds like satellite/syndicated delivery. The shame is it isn't and still is vague and shapeless.

I generally agree, but I think this is more a problem with Alternative stations in general now. 99% of what 99X plays can either be heard on Dave or Project. Organic X is the only time you can hear music with its own identity. Maybe they should expand it from 6 hours to 7 days.

I do agree that jocks are less than entertaining and I can imagine that with the economy the way it is, they're not likely to try create another morning show any time soon...much less try to bring in talent that can actually do something. Sorry Kinard, you're dry and you sound like you're trying TOO HARD to be witty. Oh to have Toucher back on 99x would be brilliant.
