I am Going in Heart surgery next week.

Hello all, just wanted to say everyone that next Thursday I will be going into Heart surgery, I'll be out for 6 hours, they said I should have a 98% of full recovery with no problems. I'm not really looking forward to it, but I guess it has to be done! Hope to be back on and listening to the radio again soon!

Thank you for the thoughts and prayers, I will be bringing my Laptop along also to make sure I keep in touch with everyone.
Thanks again.

May your recovery be speedy and the result be many many more years of life... listening to the radio!

Best Wishes

Good luck to you. We'll hear from you when you are well. In the meantime, enjoy the medication.

Our thoughts will be with you. Take an antenna and see what signals you can pick up in the hospital room!

I acually thought about doing that I got a portable radio somewhere that I can take along.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with you.

I can imagine you set up in your hospital room with your laptop, radio and antenna... ;D

jras, although we've never met I consider you a good friend. I remember you mentioning the possibility of this to me a couple of months ago and hope it goes well for you. God bless. (BTW, sorry I didn't get back to you, but was a great tower picture from Halletsville. You nailed it!)

Thanks again everyone! I'm looking forward in all of this to be over! I'll keep in touch with the progress! I'll be in Houston so I should be able to get great reception in the rooms ;)

Hi jras20,

We haven't met, but I've enjoyed reading your posts on the board. As michaealshiloh said, you are in the best place in the world for this procedure (I've had some experience with family there, and they came through with no problems). You'll be on my prayer list, and look forward to seeing your posts when you get back on your feet. God be with you.

jras -

I went through 6-way open heart bypass in February here in CA and I can tell you that you're in great hands and a greater Being. Give your trust and Faith to those beside you and within and you'll be amazed how you'll come out of all this.

Don't let any anxiety affect your going into this, as easy as it is to do. This isn't to diminish what you're going through ... it's not an easy procedure, but, fortunately, this is the time to do it ... and correctly, as painlessly as possible and with the best care modern medicine can provide.

Revel in the absolute joy you'll have at feeling better than you have for most of your life after this is over. You'll be surprised, trust me.

And most of all ... take your time after this. It will not be an immediate comeback and you'll have up and down days ... all that you'll be able to handle, just as I did (despite how I thought I wouldn't.)

The taking-time is the worst part ... but you'll want and need to.

And most of all, don't obsess with the business you love. It will still be here after your six hours and for days, weeks, months and years after you've long recovered.

Slow down, take it easy and you'll be even better than you could imagine.

I know.

My thoughts with you and your family and friends ... those you'll come to count on to speed your recovery. You'll be forever grateful, I assure you.

Regards & best wishes,

Joe Benson
San Luis Obispo, CA

Sorry to hear about that, jras. Hope things go well for you and that you have a speedy recovery. Also, make sure you let us know you're okay as soon as you're able.

I too have enjoyed and learned from your posts. For some reason I can totally picture you in the hospital with your antenna, laptop and radio. ;D

Since you are taking the laptop, does that mean you will be visiting RI from there? If so, I can’t wait to see what you have to say once those meds kick-in...LOL

May Gods hand be on you.

You are one of the "trusted voices" that can actually affect some of the stations that you listen to. Believe me, there are those that read this board that have a direct relationship with radio all over Texas. You may not know them all but they do listen to and highly respect your opinion.

Best of wishes and all of God's blessings. You're in our prayers.

Antenna? I bet you can get some wicked signals off of those metal hospital beds. I see Jras jamming to a techno station out of Arkansas or Mississippi. Seriously though good luck man. Take some cd's or an ipod because you know there will be a time when you are feeling really good but won't find anything good coming over the air. Then again if you are feeling really good the bad music won't bother you at all.

Thank you for all the support and prayers! I know the mods might get the delete button ready if I am on the meds no telling what I might say lol :)
