There are posts on the other boards here suggesting radio should drop his songs and people should boycott his concerts. They are calling him a jerk, a*shole, etc..

Anyone who disagrees with Kanye is either way off or truly a racist. The government let the people of NOLA down. Go to the Off the Air section if you want to see how I feel about blacks getting screwed by the Bush administration in NOLA.

But the reason I post is because now more than ever, Kanye has elevated himself as THE most powerful voice in hip-hop, and Urban radio should promote his message and support his music.

( Yeah just sit in that classroom while America is gettin Bomb 9/11 ) If it was not for the media presure , Bush will still be doing nothing for New Orleans . I hope all Urban radio keep supporting Kanye west because what he said is nothing new to Blacks ( Most Black People feel that Bush never cared about blacks ). <P ID="signature">______________

Oh really? Only one point of view is correct? Is that right? Kayne is a big baby. His actions of unprofessionalism speaks volumes. This is his second time making a fool of himself. He pitched a fit like a 9 year old when he didn't get the award, he felt he should have won. He makes more money than me. Where is his money? How much has he donated?

Yeah? So does that of our President...

300 plus days of vacation. You should be ashamed

; )

Props to Kanye for speaking out..

By now everyone on the boards know how I feel about everything that has happened, and if you don't email me and I will fill you ear (eyes).

Now as I've said before....

While I understand Kanye's motives for doing what he did, I believe that it was done at the wrong time and in the wrong nature.

Off the top, when you want to make a CHARGED STATEMENT, especially on international TV, you better damn well be STRONG and FORCEFUL. He was extremely nervous, stumbling over his words at times, nearly looking like he wanted to cry.

Do we all remember when Rev. Al Sharpton went off-script on camera during the Democratic National Convention? Sharpton was CONFIDENT, STRONG, and FORCEFUL. Kanye looked like he was about to cry. And I believe THAT is the reason why folks are doing a double-take at what he did.

He's only 27. To be on the camera and do something like that is very hard to do. I would rather him had sat down with the media outlets on his own time, and had it out where he woulda been able to collect all his thoughts, present them CONFIDENTLY, STRONLY and FORCEFULLY, rather than being nervous about going off script and trying to squeeze as much as he could before the camera cut him off (much like it did). Who did he want us to call?

As for his career, Kanye now has hurt his reputation in a sense for future media shows. Folks won't call him to host or co-host things, because they now believe that he won't follow the program and will lash out. He hurt himself on that issue.

A day after what Kanye had done, Tom Joyner was interviewd (either by MSNBC or CNN I don't remember) and it was a excellent interview, where (if I remember right) Tom said there is plenty of blame to go around and there will be time to do it. The matter at hand was to rescue the people.

The bottom line is unless you are confident, there are better ways to handle things and get your messages out 100%.

As far as his music and himself, he got a big head very quickly and for some reason everyone is riding his **** right now. He is not the savior of hip hop, and if he wants to take a stand with RESULTS, I think that he needs to take some lessons from Common, Russell Simmons, Chuck D, and Davey D.

What does she have to be ashamed about? Are you shaming this lady because her opinion differs from yours?

The president was on vacation but he worked from his office in Crawford. He's not the 1st president to go on vacation. There have been many who have taken longer. Its a job you can't get away from as long as you are in that position. The young man spoke without gathering facts, is all.

Actually, according to the Washington Post, Bush is on pace to break the record for the most days on vacation (held by Reagan, who had 335):

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/02/AR2005080201703_pf.html

While he cut his scheduled five-week vacation short, note that he'll still easily beat Reagan with over three years left on his term.

You say that as if Dubya regularly uses them himself...<P ID="signature">______________
"George Bush doesn't care about Black people."
--Kanye West, stating the obvious

I reiterate. In the office of the president, you are on call 24/7. NO! Emphatically, the young man does NOT have the facts. Its a matter of FACT, not some ill-informed nonsense. However, there will always be those who refuse to sort out the facts and create their own to fit their needs.
