OK, so I love radio-info, and it's a great way to keep up on my old stations. But, I visited SC this weekend and I was completely surprised.

From what I read on this board, Revv is supposed to be taking over, and Beaver, excuse me, HOT is supposed to sound bad.

Whomever made comments below about this are sadly mistaken. Hot sounds great! Glen (and Im not drinking the Glen kool-aid here), has done a really good job with the imaging, stationality, and from what I've heard... management of HOT. Even Club 103 sounds better.

I'll never again read this board and think that what I'm seeing is true.

A few other comments about my visit:
Forever in Johnstown and Altoona needs some help. Dead segues on a CHR? Cmon now, this isn't 1975 anymore (and some of your music selection is WAYYY off <js special no doubt>.

REVOLUTION ERRRGGGGHHHHh! I wish local broadcasters would take their stations more seriously. AND YES... revvv still has audio problems outside of State College. Swallow the pride and spend some DAMN money. Whos that hot chick on their website though, does she want a real job in radio?

Hot 99 in Johnstown, Hot 100 in Altoona, and Hot 103 in State College sound identical, from music to imaging to stationality. The sound of the station seems to have little to do with Glen.

See comments above. What were you listening to? The three CHRs are clones. One can't sound good and the other two sound bad.

Some people have said that Revolution sounds better than Hot. I'm not one of those people. Revolution has a long way to go, but it seems to be going in the right direction.

OK, you are nuts dude. OHP, MTV countdown and the ex Pd of Beaver were the on air all but the two hours on Rev. You must of been between your star trek episodes you dork. I have seen your type a thousand times. Go post your resume on all access and bitch about “how the suits suck” complain “how you have all the answers, but evil management didn’t let you win back in your glory day”

Yes HOT sounds great no two ways about it. How can you judge Rev on some countdown shows. Did you sample Rev during the show from Love? Makes club 103sound like its thru tin cans and is done much better. You didn’t.

You crack me up. Obviously you feel the need to tear down others to make up for some inadequacy. You offer a job to announcers you say are “hot” on the Revs website. So let me get this right, you want to hire a DJ since she is “hot looking on the site” but still bust on how she sounds. You are the type that has such a overblown ego you can’t understand how dumb you sound.

Let me say that some people don’t want to march in locked step with all the drones in a clear channel situation. Rev having problems outside of State, yeah you can pick them up too damn far. I get them till I cross the river near Harrisburg the others die after the first hill. Go back to where you are comfy living in your moms basement trying to pick up teenage girls on the request line. Hey offer them a job! Oh yeah you already do……

Ohhh I think I will quit my job and run right to you. You sound so sweet. There are a few “hot” girls that work at the rev. You sound like a arrogant little man. You sound “1975” like you refer to some local broadcasters. Everything about your post sounds like you are stuck in 1975. The guy down at the video store offered me a job too, pervert

Sounds like you are a wealthy and wise man. So why don’t you buy all the local radio station and run them your way. Expert.

Why is it that when someone makes an opinion that people do not agree with they resort to name-calling? It's just short of calling someone a troll.

Had I written a post like that (except for the hot chick part), I would have had everyone down my throat telling me that I could not possibly form an opinion on my own simply because I have a marriage license with someone who happens to be on the radio.

What if he really does think the stations sound different? So what if someone else thinks they all sound identical. Unless they are playing the exact some songs log for log, I doubt they are identical. People hear things differently.

HOT sounds pretty good to me. And I enjoy listening to WOWY as well, I could care less who owns it. I've hit all of the numbers on the dial in the last few months. Some stations really sound like hell and others just sound better.

To the non-active listener, as long as they hear something they like, they could really care less about imaging, stationality and so forth.

I dont mind your posts, the tifts between you and M. are entertaining too. Name calling, well you are right about that, however this seemed a very juvenile post with less opinion and more ripping. It shows somebodys character when they throw out a "Ill get you a real job, you are a hot chick" Thats the meat of it.

Insulting as is the rest of the post. He could of given his opinion as just that but he went past that.

Who the heck ever said WE at the Rev were taking over? We are sounding better...worlds better I believe...but as was pointed out by other posters on this board, if you caught us on the weekend, about the only local stuff is myself and one other jock...all the rest is our weekend lineup with Open House Party and the MTV weekend Countdown...so I am sure John Garabedian and MTV will be happy to hear you think they sound sooooo bad!

What we'd like to prove at the REV is that there is room for both of us in this world...And there is still room for a local small town, Mom and Pop Shop on the dial...a true novelty these days. Some will prefer Hot, some will prefer us and some will fail to see the difference at all.

Just seems funny to me that for years everyone has said WGMR is nothing...pay them no mind. We sure seem to be generating enough of a Buzz in this little old board for something that is SOOOOO bad! AJ's got his game on...so let's see how it all pans out! Don't write off this little old 50,000 watt blowtorch just yet!

Thanks for Listening. We invite you to listen longer next time...we'll take the little boost in the TSL we get from you tuning in to pick us apart :)

Oh come on! As i theorized earlier, everyone who posts to this board is either working part time, or knows somebody who knows somebody in radio. If you can't take an opinion (or male pigs) get out of radio PERIOD.

About the buzz.. yep you're right! EVERYONE is talking... if you think everyone is SHILTON and his three different monikers.

You can sit here and defend your station all you want, but you can't polish a turd. To clear things up... hot 99 and 100 are different from 103.1. 103 has decent jocks, decent imaging, and a better general presentation. There's also a difference musically as I believe that there is more local control in State College. (it shows!).

Tell it like it is, because now people like me aren't gonna believe a word that comes out of your self-patronizing mouths. Hey, if the station I was on sucked, I would admit it and look for a new job if i couldn't change it.

And my offer still stands... any of the hot chicks at the Revv want a real job in radio?

"dumbthoughtperbreak" signing off... you special olympians.

Just to clarify...SHILTON has ONE NAME...Only 1 name...I always post as myself...I always stand behind my word and I always speak MY MIND!

I also point out I am one of the few here who refuses to hide behind my screen name. I identify myself and put my money where my mouth is...You know who you are hearing from when I post! If people do not want to say who they are, so be it...no biggie...but do not accuse me of hiding behind multiple names to speak my mind...I will tell you my opinion openly as myself. I don't need 3 screen names to hide behind. My word is my own and I speak it with PRIDE! In case you have not figured out..I want you to know WHO I AM when I speak!

By the way...I for one don't defend a station that SUCKS...I just don't happen to agree with your opinion that is does suck! Oh and our "hot chicks" on the web site who have names and personalities by the way in case you failed to notice that are so glad to be here with people who see them for who they are as opposed to some slimeball who'd rather give them a gig so he can use them as his own personal trophy! With an attitude like that...must be quite the ladies man...oughta be proud!

Once again...thanks for listening!

No name-calling here.

If you say something silly, somebody is bound to notice. Everything he criticized on 99 and 100 is pretty much identical on 103. So 99 and 100 are using the same logs and 103 isn't. That's about the only difference, besides the jocks. The voice guy might be different on 103, but he's saying the same lines. Yes, the jocks are better on 103.

I agree.

We at the rev do a lot of public service for the Special Olympics. You have showed your true colors to all. Not only do you not value woman for anything but looks but call people who disagree with you what you would construe as a derogatory name. I seriously doubt any business owner would put your type in a position of power. I am happy when I am at and its sounds like you are not capable of being happy.

New to this -but dont you think onethoughtperbreak sounds sexest with his remarks?

Who cares about the opinions he has. You know whats opinions are like. He makes no real points anyway. Hitman has the guts to tell it like it is while this guy disses and runs. How can you blow into a town and judge some stations on canned programs anyway? Sure I know its a forum for opinions, thats mine.

Well, thanx, I think. But you won't be seeing anymore tifts between me and M. I believe I made myself crystal clear on that subject a while back.

(It also prompted a sticky from Mak and has anyone noticed that we have an additional moderator on this board?)

I agree.

Insulting posting and name calling...maybe you let it slide ONE time. If you disagree you rise above it and ignore it. Same poster does it again...open season!

Not real happy with the "special olympian" reference made by the originator of this thread. We gave you one shot when you started this thread. You're open season now.

I LOVE Public Enemy!!

Hey...thanks!! It is not just my hard work...Ken & Jama, Grooves, Dangerboy, Big Woody and all the parttimers give it their all to make the station sound good!!

As for the Rev, 3WZ, whomever, I have the utmost respect for ANY broadcaster, regardless of station so I am not going to take part in the "this station is better than that station" because it is childish.

Call Hot 103 a clone...insult the imaging...rip the company...say what ever you want...99% of it is WRONG. If you worked here, then you'd know the truth...until then, please continue to spew what is not true all over this board because I think it's funny :)

by the way...Dumbthoughtperpost, revbabe, gotti, Tutone, Norakomi, Mortonlikethesalt, P Mock, torr, margiekillwafleson, babeontheair, testmetermatt, lightner are all the same person...have a great week!

Miss Aretha,

Please look again at what he posted. As a woman are you not insulted? Would you be upset in my position? He stated that I do a bad job on the air, but that is OK due to my looks. That is a rotten thing to say. He ripped on my abilities then offered me a job on my looks only.

How is it not a clone? It sure sounds exactly like 99 and 100, except for the jocks. If you look back at all of my previous posts, you'll notice I never said it sounded bad - just identical to the other Forever "Hot" stations.

Technically Glen IS correct...Hot 103 is NOT the clone...it is the original. It was the concept of Hot 103 that was cloned in J-Town and Altoona in Hot 100 and Hot 99. Sadly, he is simply guilty of having helped to create the one thing that Forever thought was a super idea so they opted to re-create it all over God's Green Acres! It could have been worse...remember QWK has not been renamed ROCKY yet...A new FROG was not born here in Centre County...just the rebranding and rebirth of a Top 40 who lost its way a while back.

I only wish that whoever decided it was a good idea to use the HOT name would have seriously rethought that end of it, as it has made for some sad comparisons to the Original Hot 107.9. I know the folks who used to listen to 107.9 and they HATE Hot as it is today. I also think that the people who loved the Beaver would not necessarily want to be considered to be in with the likes of people who listened to hip-hop and R&B all day and that was the rep the Hot Name carried with it.

I would have thought it would have been better to rebrand the station with something new entirely or to have a return of the B103 brand...but what do I know? I am just a little weekend guy with too many opinions for his own good anyway!

Let's see....ummm...I come in everyday, meet with the Hot 103 morning show, schedule the Hot 103 music log, write and produce imaging for Hot 103, aircheck the Hot 103 staff, create promotions for Hot 103 (daily, weekend and book)...I am trying to see where Hot 100 & 99 come into play...hhhmmmmm...the playlists may be similar, yeah, but it is Top 40 so that should be the case...the logos may be the same too but that isn't heard on the air...I can't quite figure out how we may be indentical...I don't know how Mitch or Jonathan instruct the jocks on presentation or what they consider a "quality" promotion...I do know what I think makes for good radio and program accordingly. If you listen long enough to the three I am sure some things are similar but what is on Hot 103 comes from the Hot 103 staff only!!
