I called lrs and they said they were not changing format and would be streaming

In the next couple months hmmmm. He said they just gave the jocks the days off. Very strange. If mainline keeps lrs as is with no changes they are such idiots. I can take the music as long as those god awful jocks they have are off the air they really are bad especially joe who has no business to be on air talent and i saw them out when arron lewis of staind was doing a concert at the brown and skinny j was there my god i would think when you do i live remote you want to represent your station well well he looked disgusting is this what mainline paid millions of dollars far. Crappy wannabe talent in the 54th radio market???I should think not. Fix it or flip it bottom line. Having no jocks on was a start but now they are back on the air what is going on mainline???

Opinions

Thanks for the invesigative reporting HotPatrick, maybe you should apply for a job with 84WHAS! I had a feeling Mainline would start to stream there stations. I just wonder why Radio-One didn't?

Your welcome radiohawkins hotp always first on the story lol I bet radio one did not stream because they were to cheap did not want to invest the money. Radio one never the brightest bulbs on the block or sharpest tacks in the draw whichever cliche' suits you.

Hotp out

Who did you speak to Hotp?
As with any radio station, the jocks would be the last to know. You didn't think they were gonna say "yeah, were going Jazz tomorrow" did you? And while they might stream the station, there is no guarantee of what format it'll be.

If there are plans in the works, you, as the listener, wouldn't know about it until it happened either. There is meant to be an element of surprise in the marketplace. It would be "their little secret" until the format was unveiled. Ask the folks over at The Fox about the change of frequency from 100.5.

Strange to give the airstaff of a rock station time off over New Year's Eve. With the ability to voicetrack you would think management would want something on the air, unless they just don't care.

Diesel is the one i talked to he is the weekend dude. The station showed signs of a fdormat flip with no jocks over the weekend and no crank it or spank it.But i would think on air talent is the last to know. Kinda like being an actor bad numbers means cancellation kinda the same thing.

And to radiohawkins my dream job in radio would to be to work at indie 1031 in los angeles. www.indie1031.com. Not 84 whas!!! I would be right on wilshire blvd by spelling productions. But gimmee a job at wfpk i would be happy with it but nothing would beat indie 1031 in la for me!!!

Yep. I got a call from Mark Stahr, who was out of town at the time. He said his players from his softball team were calling him asking what was up. I didn't know about the flip until I turned my radio on! I thought we were just gone at first. I left an explative filled voice mail on Charlie Steele's phone and then Scott Clark called me to tell me we were on at 93.1. It felt like a kick in the balls. When I was at LRS and we flipped to Mix102, we, the jocks, were kept in the dark as to what the format would be until it signed on that new years day. If you want to know something, talk to the engineer, lol.

You got the LOL right...In Seymour or North Vernon, we may get 2 weeks notice...more often 2-3 days. In Indy or Louisville, 3 hours is the norm...

to Correct you hotpatrick Emmis was the one who flipped to christmas and it was on October 8 not the 1st and they moved WIBC over to 93.1. Cumulus then in mid november dumped FM Talk 93.9 for Christmas and then to warm 7 weeks later. maybe read the indiana board a little better

I stand corrected but that was exhausting just reading all that :p Is radio always that much fun in indiana? Send some of the excitement down to louisville we need it!!!

Re: I called lrs and they said they were not changing format and would be stream

Let's see just between October 8th's flip of Radio Now 93.1 to Christmas music started off a chain reaction of flips and tweaks and moves that will end on january 7th lol

93.1 October 8th from CHR Radio Now to Christmas music 93 not so close to 93 days at all of Christmas. December 26th Christmas Music to WIBC moved from 1070 to 93.1 as news talk
100.9 October 10th WYJZ Purchases the rights to the Radio now property and flips from smooth jazz to CHR Radio Now
93.9 November 16th Dumped FM Talk 93.9 WFT for Christmas music, December 25th flipped from Christmas Music January 2 debuted as Warm 93.9 as a soft AC Station
95.9 Novembet 19th Dumped Oldies to pick up all of WFT's Lineup as Freedom 95.9
101.9 December 4th WKLU dumps classic Hits for Oldies as oldies 101.9
and to finish it up on January 7 we will have the move of
950 from ESPN Radio as ESPN 950 to Sporting news Radio as XL 950
1070 from Doing Classic play by Play broadcasts of Indiana pacers, Indy 500, Brickyard 400, Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University that started on december 26 when the news talk moved over to 93.1 to ESPN radio as ESPN 1070 the Fan

which rivals the 2006 cincinnati reorginaztion and the big Cleveland change of 2001.

What's "crank it or spank it?"

Re: I called lrs and they said they were not changing format and would be stream

The rate a new record thing different names and music depending on station lrs is crank it or spank it joe does it but i do not see how he does it live a noon shift to midnight they only have 2 jocks monday thru friday but he says call in. And then djx does save it or delete it and i have heard it called smash it or trash it. Wfpk does soundcheck every thurday. Pick your favorite greg.

Hey chase what would the pint be of the red night tie it is radio dude???

I don't get it lrs plays songs from established artists sometimes on crank it or spank it tunes like that be it from whoever should automatically be added to the playlist. They do test some really good tunes occasionally and once again louisville just does not embrace true alt music they would rather here godsmack ??? very sad!!!

Although the public had a 3 month notice on the changes in Indy, I doubt the staff at WNOU knew of the changes until they happened. WWFT didn't have much of a staff from the beginning, but, apparently, the syndicated shows knew of the change a little beforehand as Dave Ramsey announced he was moving to Freedom Talk 95.9 before the change. Of course, syndication contracts usually require advance notice for when a show is being dropped.

I remember a few years ago when I was relieved of my duties at a radio station. I had just received an award from the company and a promotion. I was only on-air on the weekends, and I worked every day of the week except Friday. I was just wrapping up my Saturday work when my PD called me and told me not to bother coming in on Sunday.
