In what some are calling the "Leap Day massacre" at Citadel stations across the country, I saw a blurb on another radio-info post that KGO in SanFran might have some changes on the way.

If IF Citadel/KGO put Gene Burns on the beach, what are the chances that good radio management would kick in over at the sneaker building and they would send the Felon packing and bring Gene Burns back?

I know it is wishful thinking, and in reality Genes style of radio wouldn't fit into the modern day cesspool that radio has become, and that people expect here in the Boston market.

But I can hope can't I?

Imagine.. thoughtful issue oriented, civil, no profanity talk radio on WRKO..... I remember when....
 
Did Gene's show have any consistant local advertisers? Or were the breaks filled with promos and psa's?

Unless things have changed...most radio stations (except for the ones that are PBS affiliates) have to be paid for by commercials! If advertisers get limited or poor feedback from the listening audience...or no business at all...do you think they're gonna stick with a radio station with a format (or an air personality) that people hate! :-\
