I can't believe how much The Eagle has updated their playlist.

Did they get a new PD or something? Metallica, STP, Nirvana and Candlebox on the Eagle. They play more rock now they when they were a classic rock station.

I hope you're serious; cause now I got to go and give it a listen

Are you sure you were listening to the Eagle at the time? I decided to check them out after reading your post and they still sound the same as they ever did to me. The most aggressive song I've heard was from Def leppard. It almost sounds like you were describing QMF. Maybe I was listening in the wrong daypart?

Sounds like they've come up into the 90's with MotleyCrew, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots, & Slaughter..... You probably didn't listen very long and heard Stevie Nicks, & Boston & Kansas.

It's a little harder and some of the tracks aren't instantly recognizable, but they're rockin'. If I had a Facebook account, I'd like them.

I'll have to check them out again. It's funny, when I was at Rock 102 we played a lot of the hair bands as currents and were pretty successful. But when we started sprinkling in more classic rock, the ratings started dipping. I wonder if we could see a similar result here. Winger anyone? :)

It took 102.3 yrs to find a format that works for them. They have been a hot ac since may of 2002 and I reckon it works for them.

Just think in the past 20 yrs what formats have been on 102.3? Well from new years day 1991 till may of 1997 they were mix 102 a very soft ac. They got harder as the yrs went on. Then they were lrs 102 a alt/active hybrid till july of 1999. Then they were love(yuk)102.3 a very soft ac till may of 2002. And they have been the max hot ac ever since. One of the few things radio one got right.

Before any of these formats they had been rock 102. George did get his love though it is on 105.1

I've noticed that they're playing several "radio edits" however.

It seems to me WQMF has regressed a little since WSFR made changes. The only 90's songs I hear anymore are STP, Metallica, Pearl Jam and Nirvana. Also 00's U2's Beautiful Day!
I had heard Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz, Green Day, RHCP, and Collective Soul, but not since WSFR's change. It is frustrating just when I start getting excited about QMF again they go back to their old ways.
