I can't hear Diva ?

I've had problems hearing Diva this week. Anyone know why? Has Entercom had there power pulled for pulling a Saints coup datait? I also heard that Celebrity Death Match wants to put Mike K. against Johnny Mac in a final showdown. None of M.K.s "friends" can watch, cause it's after their bedtime.

Not in that state where I can hear it, but a friend on the gulf coast has heard,
"Antenna/Feedline" failure is the issue for both (nothing to do with HD). Has been
out since last Friday!
 
hopefully it will be out till next friday also ;D its nice to hear rock on 92.3 again!
 
I remember back in '94 being out there in the cane field in Vacherie scrubbing copper antenna line with scotch brite helping the Chief and the boys get that monstrocity back operational after a 400-foot line burn up from a lightning fry...2000 feet of line....damn...

I take it 92.3 is back operating from temporary digs as they are fading in and out over here in Thibodaux.. 104.1 is coming in with a low signal but a pretty good signal.. (Exciter running into a dipole or other setup at the transmitter?)

Also where you hearing the rock from Smashed? Country is main choice of format within 500 miles on that frequency apparently...

i didnt listen for long but the format was classic rock. dont know where it was coming from. maybe classic hits..(rock)
 
Asking cause the nearest station is a country station in Monroe and a oldies station in Grenada,Ms.

Most of the others are either too far inland and too far away for skip, or country...

But yeah heard the Diva about 4pm but she was very scratchy.. wonder if they are back to running that setup with the dipole?!? again. (the setup they used in 1994 I think was a dipole out in Jefferson)

oldies or classic hits? and its too bad 92.3 doent just flip diva. this would be a perfect time.as most everyone cant pick it up now. including me..and that makes me happy ;D
 
Well I do know I was getting my WCKW fix from the old 500 watt amer out of Garyville here on the Bayou....
 
heard classic rock on 92.3 again tonight. still dont know where it was/ is coming from?
 
I thought something was up at Diva.... Three weeks ago, the signal strength was not very strong in Destrehan, and as I got closer to N.O., it got worse. It was like that for about a week and a half. Then they went off completely two weeks ago on that Thursday afternoon. Now, they're back on with a temporary gig on the Energy Bldg. (201 St. Charles Ave.)?? Is this true? Maybe that's why the signal is so strong downtown, which I thought was weird.

My first guess with the signal problems that started about a month ago, was that the exciter was down or something to that effect. Now some are saying they're putting up a new antenna? I thought that antenna the Levet's bought was "the best in the biz!" Panel antenna... Made in Canada! ::) ;D Ah well. lol

And btw, if anyone is hearing country on 104.1, it's "Gulf Coast Country" Kicks 104 in Mobile, AL. On Friday evening, the power was so low on The Rock of New Orleans, that Mobile was fighting to get through,... and this was on the westbank! Skip must have been in.
 
92.3 on temp antenna on Place St. Charles

Vacherie antenna was (and still is) made in Germany. http://www.kathrein.de/en/bca/index.htm Sid III went over and watched them build and test it.
AFAIK the antenna is fine, it's just the transmission line that gets lonely every decade and finds some way to demand attention.
 
Diva's definitely still on an LP transmitter at 201 St. Charles Ave. New Orleans. During my trip to BR earlier today, I couldn't hear Diva past Sorrento! How long is this going to take?

104.1 is still on LP as well and they can't get a decent signal into NO and BR.

My question is this:
How does this work? Do both stations use the same main antenna to broadcast or do they have their own? Everytime I'm on LA 3127 in Vacherie, and if I'm thinking about it, I tryto look for a second antenna side-mounted or something. But I see nothing.

dont know but in livingston I can pick up 104.1 but not 92.3.
