I do not want KYSR Star 98.7 to ever change format

It's not doing so good in the ratings but this is my fav. station in L.A. besides KROQ. I don't want Star 98.7 to ever change format or name. I forbid it lol. I don't know what to think of the new logo though -makes it look like skaters listen to it really. It's not going to change format is it?

Well, hate to burst your bubble, but I've got a couple of theories tied into the potential Bonneville purchase of 100.3, and we could see flips involving 92.3, 98.7, and 93.9 as well. I will discuss it in more detail later.

I know, you're thinking KFI-FM! I have a friend at the Pinnacle building who has been professing this exact scenario for about 5 years now.
The best signals for it would probably be 92.3 or 104.3, but even 98.7 could work.

I guess you're a "rock-a-holic" then! I bet you appreciate that "the man" hasn't been able to touch the music, after his terrible censoring of those billboards on Robertson. I'm so glad there's another place we can hear the same six Red Hot Chili Peppers songs over and over again.

Hey, if you like 98.7, more power to ya. Personally, I think it's crass, corporate garbage, but that's just me.

it sure is better then what they were before when they where hot ac with crap like john mayer all the time

I liked jamie and danny i miss them and tom mitchell was a good add and i miss richard blade. Does clear channel even know what they are doing to la radio i mean they can't make up there mind with 98.7 or ktlk. They screwed up my kiss 102.7 but on the plus side if it weren't for them i would never have my indie 1031 so take the bad with the good.

I gotta say, this 98.7 retool is one of the most unoriginal, unimaginative formats out there. From the music to the marketing ("rockaholics"?!), it's everything that's wrong with radio today. I'd be more than happy to see 98.7 KFI-FM!

I am talking about me personally in my opinion kiss 102.7 i liked them pre rhythmic now i never listen. Clear channel seems all in all not sure what to do with 98.7 and ktlk.

Kiis is more CHR than alot of other stations with the Chr name. At least they cater to their market and are giving Power 106 a run for the money.

I like 987 right now. I like hearing Depeche Mode and Cure and oldies like that. It's obvious they are going after KROQ more and more. I heard Rage Vs Machine yesterday. I think the ratings will come up in time. They have nowhere to go but up right?

Personally I like the fact that they don't play as much active rock as KROQ. Hope it stays that way. Maybe that's one way they could differentiate themselves from KROQ if they wanted too.

Although granted KROQ doesn't play a whole lot of active rock to start with. To me that 98.7 doesn't sound quite as hard as KROQ and I like that.

Yeah, KFI's ratings really suffer from being on AM. Too bad they are so far under all the Clear Channel FMs ratings-wise.

Hey they actually went up in ratings! This is a piece from an internal memo floating around. Not big but up is up I guess.

How about they put Mr. Ryan Seacrest on Star again or does everyone else besides me think he's too overrated?

I don't know about over rated (maybe over exposed?) but you have to give him his props for turning his radio career into an national TV career where he makes the big bucks. And it appears he is the permanent replacement when Dick Clark passes for the new year's gig.

They had no where else to go but up - I'm sure it was an arbitron fluke
