so, i was chehcking out their pictorial recap on the site...It is laughable. The LIVE 7 concert, by looking at the pictures, shows Corky and the remaining burnouts from the short bus, along with some Harry Hines level strippers...that is about it, there was one picture that showed the parking lot with about 4 cars out there...WHO DOES THAT! Was anyone there? Did the event suck that bad? and if it did, why post pictures for all the world to see?
 
I wasn't there but this afternoon when I got in the car I heard Russ sushing JD... apparently somethng is happening Thursday that they can't talk about until then. Anyone know what they are teasing? ???
 
Russ probably struck a deal on another repossessed Batmobile :D

If Russ is talking about it (by not talking about it), I imagine it will be another non-event. Unless Loverboy is going to be touring. Over the years, I have found LIVE is one of the worst offenders when it comes to over-hyping non-events.
 
Live 7 was a cool event. A couple of thousand ppl showed up. The bands were great (aside from they air guitar playing of Mini Kiss). Everyone who showed up had a great time. And the best part was out of the big crowd that showed up I didn't see one boring, stuffy, smooth-jazz lover in attendance.
 
thank you for that stirring endorsement of the event and subsequent non-sequitor...that wasn't the question...why in the world would you put pictures up on the site depicting the event with pictures of 4 cars in the parking lot and the same gaggle of burnouts in every picture.

I wasn't at the event, but based on the pictures it looked like it sucked. It goes back to the string a few weeks back about marketing...for goodness sake, start with good marketing on your own website, if there were thousands of peopl there...SHOW THEM...this is the kind of thing that let's Robert bash commercial radio...we do a terrible job of promoting ourselves.

VDV, i don't get the reference...and robby, tell me what I said here that offends you...you are very sensitive. I said it gives guys like you, who bash commercial radio, which you DO (and it is not ALTOGETHER unwarranted), more ammo...how in the world can that bother you?

God you people are idiots. You dips are talking about an event that had over 4,000 come through the door. Which one of you got fired from your board-op job?
 
I have a feeling a format flip isnt too far off for the station....When a station decides to stick it out with two lame midday talents (P&K) and a afternoon drive host whos idea of laughs is fart drops and dead air, all the while when you have two decent talents (Chris Jagger/Richard Hunter) who are getting shafted in promotion and, in Dicks case, airshift & pay.

Wish: A decent format not represented currently (real rock, alternative or dance)
Reality: Another mexican simulcast or urban station

I remember my ol' first station manager, a Mr. Marconi, telling me that pseudo-intellectuals with speech impediments and terminal namedropitis aren't all they're cracked up to be.
