I don't understand WALK! Al Lewis apparently terminated!

That's an unfortunate decision but that's the way these things work I guess. The problem is that WALK chose not to take advantage of this opportunity. If they were going to fire Al Lewis they should have rewarded Kara Reifert and given her the time-slot. Instead all they did was bump assistant program director Patrick Shea from the overnights to the evening slot. Which is fine except that now by doing so they've left the overnight slot completely empty. If they had to cut Lewis for whatever unfortunate reason common sense tells you to give his evening slot to Reifert and keep Shea on the overnight, or give Shea the evening slot like they did and promote weekender Jack Nolan to do the overnight full-time.

why was he fired?ust curious, I wouldn't be caught dead listening to WALK, maybe, someday, in the nursing home...lol...

No overnight talent now on WALK? That stinks. I remember back in the 80's and 90's with the WALK Late Night Snack at 2am. Used to love that all request hour.

They are for sale remember... It seems pretty simple to me. Having a live jock in the overnights only matters to the people who write on these boards. It's not rated... It doesn't matter. It's all about making the overhead look more attractive to possible buyers.

. . . again with the word "terminated". Let's not forget, this post was started by the same guy who jumped to the conclusion that WALK let Kara go mid-shift, when she simply went home sick.

I stand corrected. Found this from last weeks radio and records.

Lewis leaves WALK nights

Al Lewis leaves nights at Clear Channel AC powerhouse WALK/Nassau-Suffolk to move down to Florida with his family, and APD Patrick Shea sets up shop in Lewis' old shift. "It's an idea he's been toying with for a few years," Shea tells ST. "There was nothing in the building Al could not handle or help with, and he was a great guy. We are really sad to see him go, but the move is going to be great for him and his family."

Jeez! Does it ever occur to you LIRadiofan to get your facts straight before you post?
This happens so many times with your posts that I needed to register and tell you that I look forward to reading your posts because you usually get things wrong.
Al Lewis, ratings, various B-103 stuff, and wanting Jodi Vale at KJOY fired because she didn't update the forecast on a Sunday night. Then finding out later it was automation.
Keep the laughs coming!
