I have to chuckle at the annual chatter over when various stations across the country flip to all-Christmas music and how PPM's "13th month" plays into everything these days.
My first year on a station with an all-Christmas format was in Richmond, VA in 1989. We flipped from Christian AC to all-Christmas, basically borrowing the idea from Pat Robertson when the old CBN used to do the format in the mid-1980s on the old WXRI-FM.
I just wonder how many people realize stations in CCM worked this format long before it was "cool".
