I guess Belinda doesn't pay attention much to Neal...

I couldn't believe it this morning when I heard that that Croc lawsuit was filed by Belinda Skelton's husband... When I had first heard of the suit, I was thinking more that DFACS should be involved because of the obviously careless parent letting the child get into that situation. With Neal's continuous rants on frivolous lawsuits and being such a proponent of "loser pays" in these situations, I can't believe that Belinda would take it to this level...

I guess that's one topic that may not be discussed on his show. But let's see how much courage Mr Big-mouth really has.

I really hope he gets a tidy sum so she can quit her day job and we won't have to listen to her doing anymore of those ghastly endorsements.

My take: Belinda Skelton is the producer of Neal's show. He has previously spoken out on people that file frivolous lawsuits. Her son was at the airport and got his foot/Croc shoe caught in the escalator. It did some damage to his foot requiring surgery. Her husband is now filing a lawsuit against the manufacturer.

Belinda's take: wahl mah boss has spoken unkindly about folks that go an' sue other ins' when they ain't got a dawg in tha' fight. Mah boy was at the airport when he done got his foot caught in the people mover. He messed it up good and is still up under the doctor. My hubby got a good law man that's gonna make sure the folks that conjured up these rubber shoe thingy's squeal like a stuck pig going to market.

Thanks Merlin. It gets my vote for post of the week! :-D

Gawd awful. She can't pronounce "tell-tale". It comes out tell-tell signs.
All those bogus endorsements, especially the non-on air people, has lead me to listen to Rush.
I also got tired of hearing about all the homes Neal owns, his airplane, his books, his ego, and his big money salary. I can't relate to him anymore. And I CERTAINLY can't relate to Skelton.

I agree with lip. Skelton does sound like a hick and Boortz has really said all he has to say and why does Royal have to chime in. He brings nothing to the table either. The whole show has become very stale.

My favorite kind of conservative...it's a sin when someone else does it, but when it happens to you or your family, we're supposed to sympathize. If a caller told this story, he'd say that you have to suck it up, pay the doctor's bills, and go on with your life.

This gonna shock everyone - I am taking the high road. This is a private, family NON RADIO issue.

When Boortz decided to put it on the air, it BECAME a radio issue. And when he and BS completely change their positions about frivolous lawsuits and expose themselves as utter hypocrites, it deserves a thorough airing. Too bad Rodney Ho pulled the plug for comments on his radio blog. The posts were at least 100-to-1 against Belinda and her boss.

Underneath all the on-air bluster from Boortz, once in awhile you hear him "break character" right in the middle of the drama and you get a glimpse there is a human being hiding behind that mask. (Rush does not let us see the real human being behind his mask. On second thought, maybe he does! ) ;D

Boortz knows that in a market place society where in theory there is to be little or no government intervention, there has to be a tort system. If you take your car out on the highway with slick tires on a rainy day and drive too fast, and you kill a member of my family, you are going to find out that part of the American government system and market place system is that I take you to court to punish you for your bad and stupid behavior. That, my friends, in one of the foundation planks in the CONSERATIVE view of how the world works. It is not lawsuits that conservatives rail against, it is FRIVOLOUS lawsuits that are bad.

If I manufacture, install and maintain "people movers" in an airport, what are some of the attributes of the market place in which I have chosen to play? It's crowded. It's occupied by people who have never been here before or come here seldom. Their attention is distracted from watching where their feet are, and what their children are doing because I am looking for gate numbers, listening to those P.A. system announcements, and struggling with baggage. The people who chose to play in the "people mover" market in airports and MARTA stations and convention centers voluntarily chose to serve this distracted, sometimes disoriented clientele. The legal system will held that they must plan for this behavior on the part of the users. When they screw up, the court will consider that the manufacturer might be held to "strict liability" in this case. It will be the duty of the manufacturer to show that Ms. Skelton and her children behaved in some abnormal, undefendable pattern. That's the system CONSERVATIVES believe in, isn't it?

***Some of you may work in lines of business where "Strict Liability" is an issue. Learn the term.
