I guess the Wizard of Uhs is history.

I doubt Howie would stoop so low as to keep it going, but after his mocking of that poor 80 year old woman's 911 call when she found her daughter hung, I guess he has no boundries of good taste. Truth be told, that last bit turned me off so much, I am now an infrequent listener.

As a matter of fact Howie has said that the Wizard of Uhs and the "splash" sound effect have been
retired "until further notice" and that Happy, his producer, has been told to cut off tasteless jokes.
He's hoping that the 7 sec delay won't have to be used too often.
"We wish him a speedy recovery..." (the other breaking news is the release of the "Cheeseman"...)

I am very impressed what I've heard of Howie Carr today. Even though he detests Kennedy, he realizes the immense gravity of this moment and the incredible impact it has on Massachusetts politics in the long term. He's definitely not phoning it today. This is, so far, "Must Hear" radio. . .

Howie's producer Happy is in the same position as the moderators on political boards like Free
Republic. Someone just posted an article, "How to Escape From A Sinking Car". I'm sure that
thread will be deleted. (Wonder why that got posted...yup...)

lazy howie is doing exactly what everyone's told to do in david field's corporate e-mail memo. show restraint.

Howie did just say a caller emailed him and said, "You know that if this were Dick Cheney
the moonbats would be having a field day..."

Keep in mind this same messageboard had some people who railed against Laura Ingraham when
I mentioned she had breast cancer. The posts were along the lines of "good, she deserves it".
Feel the love.

Oh, man--someone posted this to Free Republic now:
"Edgartown hikes Chappy ferry rates"

Hmm...Chappaquiddick...ferry...why would they post...Soon to be ZOT-ted, I guess *

*--a thread is pulled down for reasons like being tasteless; gets its name from the
special effect that shows up in the B.C. comic strip when the anteater zaps away an ant.

Enough so that a big battle came about over his services (Entercom v. Greater Media). Believe me,
if he weren't popular, the gang at Guest St. would have gladly let him go off to Morrissey Blvd.
Go ahead, leave, see if we care! ;D

According to the rules of the Wizard of Uhs, it is reserved for members of the Kennedy family, not just Ted.

But who else is left? Joe can speak normally and Patches is an embarrassment by his actions alone.

AFAIK, Joe was the original Wizard Of Uhs before he "retired" after his babysitter-chasing brother Michael's untimely fatal crash into a tree while skiing. (I heard it was 14 years old.) But seriously, I was shocked that Howie would be mellow as far as the Senior Senator (no Fat Boy here under these circumstances) was concerned. I was fully expecting Howie to be giggling like a schoolgirl! BTW, you know damn well that Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh and Gerry Callahan will be laughing their (butts) off about Ted K tonight and tomorrow.

I wouldn't go that far about Joe and Patches. I believe they have pinch hit for Ted in the past in the Wizard contest, and really held their own. Ted would have been proud.

You know I wasnt even alive then but I realize the great thing the Kennedy's have done for this country. It is my firm beleif that if Jackie and Bobby were still alive this world would be a much much better place.

But what has Ted done to make this world (or country) a better place? My take? Not much.

Ted had brought a lot of jobs to Massachusetts. He has gotten a lot of defense contracts for massachusetts companies like Raytheon that created hundreds of jobs. Ted has looked out for the working class families of Massachusetts for his entire career. I don't agree with his stance of the "Cape Wind" project but besdies that I think Ted has done a lot for the Commonwealth.

:) DF is so hide-bound these days that he probably flew up to Boston to write the memo. It sure wasn't copied over anyone's shoulder here in Philly. It was anyone's game today. The thing is no matter what your political views you gotta feel a little sorry for someone who has a malignant brain tumor. I guess some talkshow hosts don't seem to have trouble separating the policital icon from the human being, but that's what gets people like us talking about them. Missed Smerconish today.

I'll buy that, as long as you acknowledge his enormous role in the illegal immigration problem in this country, and the explosion of the welfare state. These two issues far outweigh the good that you pointed out, in my humble opinion.

It's also good to know that if I ever drive off a bridge with a woman in my car and leave her there
then fail to report it till the next morning, I'll get a slap on the wrist and will surely be re-elected
many times. God bless the Commonwealth of Mass.! What, you're saying that wouldn't happen to
ME? Do you know who I am?...

>>According to one commentator, his route back to the cottage would have taken him past four houses from which he could have telephoned and summoned help; however, he did not do so...By 7:30 am the next morning he was talking "casually" to the winner of the previous day's sailing race, with no indication that anything was amiss

Ted's favorite paper, the Boston Herald, is busy telling stories of people whom he helped. I'm waiting
for the one about Ms. Kopechne.
