I hate Paramount Television

The reason why I hate Paramount Television with a passion is because they play the theme to Star Wars when their logo is being shown at the end of their TV shows. That is why I did not want my parents watching 7th Heaven on ABC Family. If I was George Lucas, I would sue Paramount Television for copyright infringement. Why does Paramount Television play the theme to Star Wars during the showing of their logo?

Star Wars was basically a copy of all those 1940's sci-fi serials complete with the scrolling intro, the X-wing fighters that fly like aircraft and the pom-pom type anti-aircraft guns of WWII.

Seems infringement isn't unique to Paramount alone.

They don't. Try listening to more than the first couple of seconds of the Star Was theme sometime.

Oh yes they do! It's the same as Fox radio news stealing the first six notes from that "very newsy" TV show, "Green Acres"!

Shame! ;D

I don't like that Paramount deleted the Filmways logo from the end of "Petticoat Junction" as shown on MeTV.
Viacom didn't do that to "The Beverly Hillbillies. Viacom lets "Elly-Mae Clampett" say "This has been a Filmways Presentation" and then the Viacom logo pops on. Thank you "V-man"! That's the way to do it.
Boo and hiss to Paramount television who won't allow "Betty Jo Bradley" say ... "This has been a Filmways Presentation" at the end of each color episode of "Petticoat Junction".

I'll search online for a trustworthy 'Duh/English, English/Duh' dictionary so similar threads like these won't fool me again. ;D

Except that Paramount's logo jingle was first introduced in 1970 -- seven years before "Star Wars" -- and sounds nothing like the Star Wars theme.

Take it up with CBS -- they own the Paramount TV library as part of the deal from splitting with Viacom a few years back.

Paramount's Star Wars-like theme hasn't bothered me.

And it shouldnt..Why people let things like this bother them boggles the mind..
The point is, the two songs sound nothing alike.
I'd say more about this thread, and the original poster, but it would be a TIO.

I think the OP may be referring to Paramount's fall 1988-and-later musical logo.
