I have GPS, and I still couldn't find the house

Ok, so where is the house, bass, and freestyle that was supposed to be on Ciara's latest album? And what happened to "it's a 3 disc album, with each disc having about 5 to 6 songs on it, with one being slow jams, two being mid tempo crunk r&b, and three being freestyle, house, and bass?"

I was all excited about this for a few months now, thinking maybe this would be something big and radio would be forced to jump on it, and the album turned out to be nothing as expected. Whoever created the description in wikipedia surely doesn't know what bass and freestyle is, and probably only has a somewhat general idea of what house is. It didn't help that her album kept getting pushed back, only for me to have to wait longer to discover there is no bass and freestyle songs on it, and there really isn't any house on it (although there may be a few things that resemble house in certain ways) to begin with... or am I not seeing or finding the right album or songs?

I heard it was supposed to be a three disc album, with each disc having its own subtitle, but it doesn't show it that way on internet music stores. There is a lot of pop and r&b on the album, but nothing like what you'd catch on David Guetta, The Underdog Project, or Flo Rida's albums. .. And who came up with "The final recordings where up-tempo pop-tinged, house, and freestyle cuts"? Either I'm not finding the right music, or I'm confused, or the final album edit didn't turn out what people or someone had planned it to be. Her previous album actually had more stuff that had a much closer resemblance to freestyle and bass than this one does.

I'm not saying the album is horrible, but rather, not what I expected it to be. There's just something about most r&b and pop artist who try to make dance hits. They always seem to have to try to skew it in a bit of s different direction... or do something to the sound, as if they are trying to sugar coat it or make up for the fact that they were really trying to make a dance hit. I don't know how to explain it better than that, but for some reason, there is always a difference between an original dance artist and a pop to dance artist, when I think it's more than simple to easily make a dance record if you really wanted to, no matter what, especially when you have someone else doing the beats for you! I'm sure if you find the right producers, it could be done...

It's Cinco de Mayo. Have a Kahlua and Cream or a Tequila Sunrise and try listening to it then. You might find that it is all you expected and then some...although prolly not. Take it from me, as I am the band camp mixologist at TFWG. ;D

Maybe it's time to not believe everything you hear from unnamed sources. ;)

I had reason to believe it, based on her music history, especially certain things she's done on her previous album, and with other projects / productions she's been involved with. Not to mention, the direction music is also headed in these days, and what most artists similar to Ciara have been doing recently. You'd expect that type of description to at least be somewhat accurate for her today. If she had released this album as a triple disc containing her previous album and an extra disc featuring collaborations she's done outside her own albums, then things would've been much more accurate to description.

It's sorta like if I see someone exiting a space shuttle, then months later I see a few telescopes and a subscription to several National Geographic magazines in that guy's house, and then some unknown person tells me a few weeks/months later that that guy I saw exiting the shuttle the other day was planning some future projects with NASA, I'd be extremely tempted to believe that unknown source who told me the guy was associated with NASA, based on certain reasons.

Actually.... now that I remember, on one of her blog pages, she (or her page designer or producer) had certain clips up that were not put on the album, and those were mostly the ones I was hoping for. It's unfortunate, but... she did have quite a bit of trouble with this album and certain songs not doing all that it was expected to do. I don't really think any of the songs were that bad, but yes, she really should've just started with "love sex magic" as a first single from this album instead of.... that other song. I also wish they had released "that's right" from her previous album as a single! I bet it would have even done much better than "like a boy", especially in the longer run of things....

Why must people do things like make "bonus tracks" and not put it on the album, then make those bonus tracks only available in certain online shops??

To me, this is almost as aggravating as people who decide to release an album, then shortly after they go to release a hot track they know people will want and expect to be on the album, then AFTER they know people bought the first one, they re-release the album with the extra two or three tracks on there for the exact same price (or even more) as the first album!

I know people must make money and do what they must to get as much money out of it as possible, but at least keep it simple, without the tricks and gimmicks.

Anyway, I'm not beating up on Ciara. I know she's an amazing artist, although this album I wouldn't say is the best I've heard. The only track I'd probably use outside of "love sex magic" is the bass remix of "never ever".. but even that, I don't even know how big of a hit that is, or even will be.

That song is not even part of her album or the bonus tracks. That's more of Enrique's project, and I wish Ciara also did more stuff like this on her album. There are quite a few tracks she could've EASILY "danced up" a bit more.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say it is in her album, just that she also collaborates on it. My bad!

I think I enjoyed her previous album more, even though there are a few tracks off of this album that are ok. I like the Enrique and Ciara one a lot. The Kelly Rowland ft David Guetta is growing more on me, and the same with Kim Sozzi's latest one.
