Ok, so where is the house, bass, and freestyle that was supposed to be on Ciara's latest album? And what happened to "it's a 3 disc album, with each disc having about 5 to 6 songs on it, with one being slow jams, two being mid tempo crunk r&b, and three being freestyle, house, and bass?"
I was all excited about this for a few months now, thinking maybe this would be something big and radio would be forced to jump on it, and the album turned out to be nothing as expected. Whoever created the description in wikipedia surely doesn't know what bass and freestyle is, and probably only has a somewhat general idea of what house is. It didn't help that her album kept getting pushed back, only for me to have to wait longer to discover there is no bass and freestyle songs on it, and there really isn't any house on it (although there may be a few things that resemble house in certain ways) to begin with... or am I not seeing or finding the right album or songs?
I heard it was supposed to be a three disc album, with each disc having its own subtitle, but it doesn't show it that way on internet music stores. There is a lot of pop and r&b on the album, but nothing like what you'd catch on David Guetta, The Underdog Project, or Flo Rida's albums. .. And who came up with "The final recordings where up-tempo pop-tinged, house, and freestyle cuts"? Either I'm not finding the right music, or I'm confused, or the final album edit didn't turn out what people or someone had planned it to be. Her previous album actually had more stuff that had a much closer resemblance to freestyle and bass than this one does.
I'm not saying the album is horrible, but rather, not what I expected it to be. There's just something about most r&b and pop artist who try to make dance hits. They always seem to have to try to skew it in a bit of s different direction... or do something to the sound, as if they are trying to sugar coat it or make up for the fact that they were really trying to make a dance hit. I don't know how to explain it better than that, but for some reason, there is always a difference between an original dance artist and a pop to dance artist, when I think it's more than simple to easily make a dance record if you really wanted to, no matter what, especially when you have someone else doing the beats for you! I'm sure if you find the right producers, it could be done...
