I HAVE TO DO THIS

This will have to do with radio in someway come in the next few months but now that we have two new TV networks forming one from CBS-Time Warner owned The CW Television Newtork and now the other being Fox's My TV Network (at least that is what I think it is called) starting up in September I can see some major shuffling in the television line up here in Jax. This would def benfit all radio stations due to the fact they are going to want to advertise to get viewers...now the question is who is going to get what network here in Jacksonville...........we have three very qualified stations.....all in which a shuffle could happen. So here is what I see coming soon but please make your own predictions because we can welcome 1995 back to the year 2006 where network TV is about to go crazy:

WJXT Channel 4--right now: Ind.---future?? maybe FOX or My TV Network. CW is possible but WJWB has the better chance
WJWB Channel 17--right now: WB---future?? CW but if they lose FOX, My TV Network or Ind.
WAWS Channel 30--right now: FOX---future?? could stay with FOX but may want to try My TV Network which could send FOX to Channel 4 or Channel 17....but who knows??

It will def be a different TV market for all markets come September.....and radio stations will benfit from the advertising.....$$$$$$$ will be rolling in soon.....

Explain to me how TV stations switching networks will really do much of anything for radio stations? After the initial ad buy, how does radio benefit? They don't.

They still have to pay to be on the stations (unless they're Clear Channel and own both types of properties).

These switches won't be real switches at all.

4 will probably stay independent unless My Network TV (the actual name of Fox's new "youth" network designed to pick up the UPN/WB affiliates that lost their programming because of the CW) makes them an "offer they can't refuse". The reason they split with CBS in the first place was to have freedom of programming. I don't know how free a deal with a startup network would be, but probably better than their CBS deal.

17 will be CW - no real change there except they pick up the good UPN programming and drop the underperforming WB programming. Perhaps a change in call letters for WJWB?

30 will be Fox - it's an established network that does well, and there's no way CC would give it up for something untested like CW or My Network TV.

Just my feelings on this...
