Is it true Progressive Talk radio is coming to Boston?

Forget the wingnuts - they don't have a clue about the
radio business. There are other ways - one never
knows what could happen! If and when there is something
to announce, you will hear it here first... ;)

Jeff, you're right.. they are radio wannabes for the most part and have no real clue how the business works.

They should start an internet stream, with local progressive talk stuff... cheap and easy to do.

It's 2008. "Signal" is about as relevant as "horse-drawn carriage."

You're jumping the gun a bit. Until all cars are outfitted with wi-fi internet audio radios and people have wi-fi internet portable receivers, people will still listen to "signals".

How many people have a computer in their bathroom to listen to webcasts while taking a shower? Very few I'm sure, but lots of people have a portable radio in there. How many people have a timer program on their computer so that it wakes them up to web streams? Very few compared to the amount of conventional clock radios still going off every morning.

Broadcast radio isn't quite dead yet.

What I find interesting right now:
the originator of this thread had just registered for a r-i account,
and, minutes later posts this thread. Too suspicious - what's the
vig idea? Talk about trying to start a rumor...

Jeff, you're right, but it seems to happen way too often on these boards and if you look the person who made the original post hasn't made any further posts. If a rumor is gonna have any credibility at all a person is gonna need facts, which can be verified or shot down. For example the person could have said "I heard a group looking to start a Progressive Talk Station was in talks with WAZN to buy time to launch the station." And then you as WAZN's GM could deny or confirm this.

What is interesting is that no one is offering any specifics. Why bother posting if nothing is really going on?
