I heard it from a friend

who, heard it from a friend, who heard it from another that BJ will take over the morning slot at KISW. The only question is whether they pull Stern or wait until the show closes out.

The obvious choice would be The Men's Room but BJ would have a cow if that happened. Even though he not capable of carrying a morning show, they will give it to him anyway. If it doesn't work out, management can say "I told you so, go back to afternoons". Look for an announcement in the next few weeks.

here is the news from allaccess who gets it from the source... I know infinity entercom... but I think this is what's really going to happen...

Here is a Special Bulletin from
ALLACCESS.COM:

Infinity has unveiled its Howard Stern "replacement strategy," including the official announcement of David Lee Roth and Adam Carolla's shows, the flip and rebranding of several stations to Talk "Free FM," and new stations for Cleveland's Rover and Washington's The Junkies.

Do you think that they'll take a risk on those two in mornings? It seems to me that to lose a radio legend like Howard Stern, you can't replace it with a brand new, unproven, show. At least BJ and The Men's Room have an audience that will overlap with KISW's, they can carry a show for the most part, they're funny for the most part and they have lasting power. I (being in KISW's demo) would rather listen to a proven (or even a not so proven) local show than a completely unproven national show...just my $2 worth

My boss said BJ mentioned on his show he was going to be gone Thursday shooting a television commercial?

It is kind of odd timing that Entercom would have BJ shooting a TV commercial for a #1 rated afternoon show that got there with no real advertising to speak of? Could it be they are pre-taping promotional spots for a big switch? Dave Richards says in Virgins column that Sterns replacement is already lined up and is a local show?

This is part of an Infinity format change called Free FM. This will not affect Seattle, but it is having an effect already in markets like San Diego and San Francisco. These are underperforming classic rock or rock stations that happened to carry Stern. They are now switching over to an FM talk format. Stern's flagship station in NY and 103.7(?)in San Diego are switching to this format. For example, the San Diego station now carries Leykis in the afternoon and The Triplets (LA based midday show). So, it looks like a few shows that were not previously syndicated are now going to be syndicated

I can't explain it as well because I'm not a radio guy, but if you go take a look at the San Diego board, you'll see what I'm talking about.

This won't effect the Buzz since they're not Infinity, nor will it effect KISW.

However, in a perfect world, the Men's Room would take over in the mornings at either station.

Wouldn't set-up and interestng situation to have BJ on mornings at KQBZ and R&M on KISW mornings. The lady would have to compete head to head with the guy she dislikes the most right now. Imagine getting killed in the ratings by a guy who caused you to sue your employer?
