I "heart" Radio......constantly!!

Is anyone else sick to death of hearing Clear Channel's never-ending self promotion for "I Heart Radio" Every other sentence has that stupid 3 word phrase included. CC must be spending a small fortune promoting this. Just think if they used that money for good use, like paying actual on-air talent to sit in a studio, not prerecorded voice-tracking dribble and the same 25 songs every day.

any truth to the rumor that CC is going to formally change
their corporate name to "Eyehart Radio"?

Boy, do I feel stupid. I thought it was " I Hear Tradio" Rick Bergman apparently doesn't have the clout I thought he did.

Not to change topics, but I am still waiting for Sal and Richard from the Stern show to call Rick Bergman and provide a bit of levity for the blue hairs.

... It seems to be 3WS doing it the most.

At this point, all CC stations (at least those that are streaming) are now including the phrase "An iHeartRadio station" in their TOH ID's.

I don't live in the Pittsburgh market anymore, but the Clear Channel stations where I live now are constantly advertising "I Heart Radio" as well. And after trying it myself, I have come to the conclusion that its just a ripped off version of Pandora with all of Clear Channels streaming radio stations mixed in as well.

I hate how the new IHR app prompts you to log in with your Facebook account in order to save presets... There's a thread about these gripes on the "Radio And The Internet" board here on R-I...

And the streaming channels are what run on most of their HD2 channels.

What is the problem again? You don't like the commercial or the app?
The app is great.

The commercial is so obnoxious I don't care if the app will come to my house and cook and do my dishes. Believe it or not, there are lots of people out there who don't have smart phones or whatever you need to use and could care less about "apps."

And that's your loss. Everything you want in the way of programming is out there, but you need some new technology to access it. But you, like many, would rather sit and complain that traditional (corporate) media hasn't adapted to you.

Maybe the government should step in and establish a radio app czar to make it easier for her to hear granola indy music.
"..progress, but only if it is done my way.."

What? I'm not "complaining," I just don't care for endless airings of a commercial with a lackluster buzz phrase and I also don't care to listen to music on a phone, whether it be smart or dumb. If you "download" this "app" can it change what you hear on your radio in the car? I'm seriously asking, I honestly don't know. Because that's what I'd care about.

And I'll just repeat again: the commercial repeated CONSTANTLY is so f'ing obnoxious that anything with the I Heart Radio label attached turns me off. If they opened up an I Heart Radio restaurant, I'd avoid it lke the plague. Do you understand what I'm saying?

You have a professional involvement in radio and you drive a car that is less than 10 years old?

How do you do it, corporate? How do you do it?

I know, but it sounds like 3WS is doing that and then some.

Clear Channel has mucked up a lot of radio. Having edicts that management pushes as "you must do this" is what happened to 3ws. I don't hear Iheart pushing (promotion) as much on DVE. Surely anyone can hear the constant promotion of the iheart product continuously on 3ws, not dve.

CC has made 3ws into their scrificial lamb. Staff cuts, air content polluted by CC mandates like iheart. It's now a jukebox. What's next? Just replace it altogether with one of their classic hits formats?
