I hope 106.1 FM picks up Phil Hendrie

That show was pretty popular amongst people I've talked to. They're flamed about 1350 removing him altogether.

As for them picking up Dr. Laura, I'd be ok with that. But I have to say something about her. A week before Christmas in 2002, I tuned into her show for the first time in over a year or so. The caller I heard as I tuned in wanted to speak about the school's policy about birthday invitations (it was a mother of a daughter at the school who called in)---she said her daughter had brought invitations to school and handed them out to only her friends. School policy mandated that invitations be given out to all people in the class or only to people of same sex (in this case, to all girls). The teacher and principal scolded her for doing so. Immediately, Dr Laura got in an uproar and said that their policy was wrong. Caller said that it was a private/religious school her daughter attends and she was trying to tell Laura to which religion the school is affiliated; Laura immediately broke in and said it doesn't matter. DrL then went on to say that any school principal/administration that makes these silly rules ought to be dragged by the hair on the ground and tortured, etc. Well, next day as I was watching the cable news channels looking about the info about Trent Lott stepping down from being sen majority leader, the next top headline I saw was that Dr Laura's mother was found slaughtered to death in her (mother's) apartment in California. Police said Laura's mother's body was probably lying there for several weeks. Laura said she hadn't spoken to her mother for several weeks. Talk about your own words coming back to haunt you!

She has definitely gone over the top in recent years, and I see why stations are dropping her.

DUDE! What kind of messed up story is that? It sounds like you are almost happy that her mom was killed just to stick it to her. Dr. Laura is off her rocker in this case, Ms. Manners or Emily Post will tell you - if you bring invitations to school, you bring them for everyone. If you only want to invite certain people, that's what the postal service is for.

Not that it matters.<P ID="signature">______________

I'm not happy her mother was killed. I was just saying it was ironic that she makes a comment like that on the air, and then the next day a relative of hers is dead from probable slaughtering. And I'm not making the story up. It was on one of the cable news channels. The police hadn't released much info at the time. And I didn't hear much if anything after that.
