I hope WSB picks up Phil Hendrie's new show

Phil's new late night talk show would be a nice exchange for the Neal Boortz replay. Plus WSB seems to like former local hosts (Hannity) and moreso former WSB local hosts (Boortz, Howard) which Phil is one of. The new show is with the Talk Radio Network, and since WSB carries Michael Savage they're already familiar with the network.

wouldn't it air from 1- 4 am est? That would be a no brainer, beats -'reboortz'...

That's the live timeslot, yeah. I wouldn't mind the hour delay to 2-5 though so that Krok isn't interrupted. Phil screens the crap out of his calls anyway, and doesn't take many.

Ho has a priceless quote in his blog:
"GST program director Randall Bloomquist said he’d like to hear samples first before he makes a decision."

Good idea with an unknown like Hendire.

i loved his show. one night he was going a bit nuts with his characters and one started beating up the other. my friend who had filled his mouth with soda literally blew it all over the inside of his windshield from laughing so hard. now that is family entertainment.

He's not syndicated by Premiere any longer, so why would they (that is, WGST) pick up his show? That would mean having to pay for something. WSB has a good relationship with TRN so I'm sure that's where he'd go, if anywhere, in Atlanta.

Well I agree that Phil would sound great on WSB. He was there back in the 80's doing a local show before he went to L.A. Personally I don't think they have the smarts to put Phil on WSB. They can't get out of their Boortz and Clark Howard mode who's shows are so tired.

Actually Phil was on WSB before he went to WCCO in Minneapolis. Cox ran him around good until he landed in Miami and WIOD got sold to Paxson, and Cox sent him off to KFI which got bought by Clear Channel in 1997, and Hendrie came for the ride and eventually got picked up by Premiere.
