"I" Independent Television Comes to CH.31

Last night, I tuned to Channel 31 and found promos running for the "I" Independent Network. What's up? Is this PAX under a new name or is PAX out of the TV business. Let's hope that Channel 31 will originate some local programming in the future...although I doubt it will happen.

They still have the PAX logo on. Is it "i" or PAX? Can't they make up their mind?
______________

They are having both logos on-screen for a certain period of time.I read that PAX/i is planning to just have the i logo on-screen in the future.

Since PAX is part of NBC Universal owned by General Electric, how can this be "Independent"?

How many people in the general viewing public know that though? It'll be easy for the casual viewer to believe that this is an "independent" station.

Actually NBC-U owns a peice of it with Bud "Infomercial" Paxton and others owning the rest.
______________

Yeah, it doesn't matter, even if NBC owns it. It is just a name anyway. Casual viewers wouldn't even care.
______________

Slide over to the National TV board. There are a few threads over there dealing with the conversion of PAX to "i"
